Pro life march
slated Saturday
Pro-life supporters will protest the
anniversary of legal abortion Saturday
with the 1 1th annual Walk for Life in
downtown Lincoln.
Ellen Snoddy, vice president of Lin
coln Paght to Life, said the walk com
memorates the US. Supreme Court
decision to legalize abortion on Jan. 22,
1973.
"It's a day of public outcry to call
attention to the problem of abortion,"
Snoddy said. "It reminds us of the 15
million babies that have been killed by
abortion since 1973."
The silent walk from 15th and P
streets to the Capitol will begin at 10
am. Omaha Mayor Mike Boyle, state
Senators Bernice Labedz of Omaha
and Loran Schmidt of Bellwood will
give speeches at the CapitoL Snoddy
said 2,000 people participated in the
march last year, and, depending on the
weather, more are expected this year.
No major events involving pro-choice
supporters are planned during the
weekend except
he expects the team to improve in the
future.
"We went out there to win," he said.
"We don't bust our butts to finish
tenth."

more in-depth about livestock.
The team's only goal i3 "to do the best
we can," he said.
