Booking kills 'Dead' concert bat becker 3 Bad news, rock fans. Despite our trumpeting the good news a week or so ago, the Grateful Dead concert has apparently fallen through. The Dead had originally been scheduled for Nov. 1 1 at Pershing. However, the auditorium was booked for that night. An attempt to get the concert moved into the University Coliseum was nixed by the Dead's management. That November week, however, will stil! be a full one. Uriah Heep and Savoy Brown will be at Pershing on Monday, Nov. 6, and Wayne Cochran and his C.C. Riders will be at the Royal Grove the following night. More cancellation news. The International Circus and Ice Show which was to have been at Pershing this weekend has canceled its performances. The show's star, Karl Wallenda, injured himself in a fall a couple of weeks ago and hasn't recovered sufficiently for the show to go on.
