The win boosted t h e scarlet season record to 5-0 and was their third straight shut out. After the Wildcat defense had held the Husker s to a scoreless first quarter, Har ry Wilson smashed through the line and scored from 11 yards out with four sec onds gone in the second quarter. Kennedy was injured in the first half of the game and sat out the rest of the game with ice packs on his shoulder. Kansas State held lead ing punt returner Larry Wachholtz in check with high spiraling punts and downfield coverage. Wach holtz added three extra points while Ted Vactor ac counted for two. Duncan Drum missed on his at tempt. The game included sev eral firsts as Tony Jeter strengthened the defensive end corps, turning in a respectable performance in the final half.
