Devaney said Nester (Bus ter) Yannon, 5-10li, 205-pound high school All A m e r i c a n from Central Catholic High School in Steubenville, Ohio has signed with the Cornhusk ers. "AVe couldn't be happier," Coach Devaney said upon learning that Yannon had made his derision to attend Nebraska. "Buster is a fine boy and a great football play er. We are elated that be has decided to become a Corn- husker football player, and gain his college education at the University of Nebraska." Yannon carried the ball 212 times and averaged 8 yards per carry last fall. He also punted for a 35-yard average. The husky Steubenville star made a host of honors during his senior campaign. Among them: Prep All America by New York Times, Prep A 1 1- Amencan and Scholastic Magazine; Ohio All State by United Press International and Associated Press; honor ary captain of the All Eastern Ohio District team; "Back of the Year" and the "Mr. Touchdown" award in Steu benville. Yannon, in gaining "Back of the Year" honors in Ohio, followed in the footsteps of Harry Wilson, also a Stenben ville product who now is star ring for the Cornhuskers. In selecting Nebraska, Yan non will also be joining three other Huskers, in addition to Wilson, who hail from the Steubenville area. They are center Steve Schaefer, full back Bob Weinman and All Big 8 end Tony Jeter, who is from nearby Weirton, W. Va. Yannon gained over 1,693 yards rushing last fall to eclipse the ground-gaining record set by Wilson in 1962. The Cornhuskers this week end added Sam Buda, 245 pound tackle from Creighton PreD. to the growing list ot outstanding high school ma terial from Nebraska who have signed letters of intent with the Huskers. The Husk ers have now garnered all the Nebraska prep stars that they sought. Wrestling Letters Presented To 7 Five sophomores, a junior and a senior have earned var sity wrestling letters for the 1964-65 season, first-year Coach Orval Borgialli an nounced this weekend. AH win return except 167 pound senior Ken Fox, who was awarded his tmrd letter. The Huskers wound up with a 5-11-1 dual record for the season and finished sixth in the Big Eight Conference Championships. Lav erne Al ters, 191-pounder, was second in the meet, and heavyweight Carel Stith placed third. Both are sophomores. ADers also won a football letter as a guard on the 1964 Big Eight championship squad.
