Nebraska's young but talented wrestling squad will be
facing stiff competition in its first competition Saturday.
The Husker mat team will meet Indiana State, Wis
consin, and Bloomsburg in a triangular at Terre Haute,
Indiana. - .
Bloomsburg is the defending NAIA champion, Indiana
State won the Indiana Central Conference title last year
and the Badgers are favored to take the Big Ten crown
this year.
Against this formidable opposition, Coach Bob Mancuso
will use three lettermen: Mike Nissen, 123; Richard Van
Sickle, 130 and Ken Fox, 177. Nissen, team captain, is, the
most impressive competitor. He will attempt to keep, his
perfect three year dual slate clean and improve : last
year's third place finish in the NCAA tournament. , .
"We have high hopes for Mike this season. It is hoped
he can improve his excellent performance of last year,"
commented Mancuso.
Nissen, along with the likes of Jim Raschke and Har
old Thompson, led last year's ninth place finishers in the
NCAA tournament.

confidence in a trio of former Nebraska prep champions
that will be in competition Saturday.

speed and that they should develop rapidly with experience.
Clatterbuck, hampered by a knee operation last year, may
