Nebraska's cagers, unable to cope with a full-court press,
dropped a 65-63 decision to Wichita Saturday night before an
estimated 3,500 fans at the Coliseum.
The Hnskers claimed a 41-34 halflime Head, but scored
wily 52 points in the second canto as Wichita coach Ralph
Miller sent his charges into a full-court press at the begin

The basket gave Wichita a
54-52 lead and when Van
Eman connected from tlie
free throw line, it was 55-52.
The Shocker lead see-sawed
between one and five points
the remaining nine "minutes.
A lay up by Tom Russell
narrowed the gap to 63-82 with
43 seconds remaining.
Husker Jim Kowalke then
picked up his fifth foul in an
attempt to get the ball
from Van Eman. When Van
Eman made both charity
tosses, the game was nearly
out 6i reach, but the Huskers
bad one final chance in the
closing seconds.
Wiley fooled Nebraska's XI

Wall led all scorers for the

Nebraska's widest lead was
at 36-25 with 3:35 left in the
first half when Al Roots con
nected on a long jump shot.
Al Brack's tip-in at the final
buzzer in the first. half gave
the flusters their seven-point

Wichita made good on only
two of 11 charity tosses In
the first half for 18 per cent.
Nebraska hit mine of 12 for

The Huskers hit a torrid
16 of 35 from the field in
the first half for 45.7 'per
cent, but cooled off consider
ably in the second canto for
a total of '24 of 6, a per
centage of 36.4.
Wichita hit better from the
field than from the ft
throw line with 27 of 5 from
the field for 41.$ per cent
and only 11 of 27 from the
charity Stripe for 40.7 per
cent.
Moore, a reserve guard led
the Shocker attack with 16
counters. Wiley and Van
Eman, a 5-11 sharpshooter,
added 14 each.
Kowalke followed Wall in
the Husker scoring column
with 12 points. Russell led ail

The loss leaves Nebraska
with a 1-1 mark while Wich
ita is" now 2-0. The Wheat
shockers defeated Wyoming
