STIIX MISSING This bronze sculpture, "The Dolphins,'
taken from the University Art Galleries last week is still
missing, according to University officials. The piece was
valued at $700. Its return will be accepted without Investi
gation, according to Norman Geske, director of the Gal
leries. It is believed the theft may have been a "'sneak
day" prank.
Gooddins 'died
By Ag Honorary
Dr. Thomas Goodding, pro
fessor emeritus oi agronomy,
and Charles Ahrens, senior
in the College of Agriculture,
were honored Tuesday night
by the Gamma Sigma Delta,
honor society of agriculture.
Dr. Goodding received an
award of merit as a faculty
member. He joined the Uni
versity staff in 1917 as as
sistant club leader in agri
cultural extension. Dr. Good
ding has been cited for '"out
standing service to agricul
ture." Ahrens received the senior
scholarship award for having
the highest scholastic stand
ing among seniors in Ag Col
lege. He is a member f the
Agronomy Club, Alpha Zeta
and Sigma XL
Gamma Sigma Delta also
initiated 44 new memhers.

A chapter of Phi Delta
Gamma, national fraternity
for graduate women, has
been established on the Uni
versity -campus.
Mrs. Velna Weir will head
the new chapter. Myrtle Day
is the new vice-president;
Gertrude Chase, second vice
president; Camille Klasek, re
cording secretary ; Beryl
Bowlin, corresponding secre
tary and Mildred Bartos,
treasurer.
More than 50 members
were initiated into the group.
The purpose of the frater
nity is to promote the pro
fessional ideals among wom
en of the graduate schools
and to advance the social
welfare and activities of wom
en of the graduate Bchools.
Mrs. Weir explained that
the activities of the group
would include the sponsoring
of a foreign student program
and a scholarship grant pro
gram. The University chapter be

United States. There is also
a chapter at Omaha University.
