last week.
The Huskers were victor
ious in their opening match
of the season against the Uni
versity of Tulsa, but were
unsuccessful in the next four
matches that followed. Albert
Arrigunaga, No. 3 Corhusker,
was the only winner forced to

ing the final team score
against Tulsa, 7-0
Oklahoma State University
turned the tables the follow
ing day as they won over Ne
braska, 7-0

won the first three games
which were held inside before

Sometimes you win, some
times you lose and some
times you get rained out.
That about sums up the Husk
er baseballers' southern trip
as they won two, lost three
and had one game washed
out.
The Huskers split in games
with Texas Lutheran and
Houston winning 10-3 and 12
6 and losing 7-0 and 5-2. They
dropped a 6-1 decision to Rice
and the second game with
Rice was canceled because
of rain.
Sharpe
Coach Tony Sharpe stated,
"I was well pleased with the
pitching. They did a real fine
job although we didn't give
them too much help In the
field. We had a lot of both
mental and physical errors."
Nebraska was shut out, 7-0
by Texas Lutheran In the
opening game of the trip.
Bob Gleason and Lefty Hev
ner limited the Texans to only
five hits but a pair of field
ing errors, five walks and
four stolen bases gave Texas

provide for free tuition and
$15 in manuscript-reading
fees, will be awarded under
graduate or graduate stu
dents under 30 years of age
who show promise and a de
sire to improve writing tech
niques. Recommendations from
English departments or cre
ative writing programs as
well as applicant letters and
writing samples should be
sent to Miss Robb at the
University of Colorado.
Eight nationally known
writers will be at Boulder to
lead workshops designed to
enable writers to exchange
ideas from July 20 to Aug. 7.
