gained their first victory over
the Huskers in many . years
when they whitewashed Ne

Program Set
For Frosh
"Activities N.U.," a special
program originated this year
by the Mortar Boards for
freshman women, will be held
Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the
Union Ballroom.
The purpose of the program
will be to explain the function
of all activities on campus pre
vious to the Activities Mart,
Oct. 14.
Officers of campus organiza
tions will explain their ac
tivity, after which they will
be available in various parts
of the ballroom to informally
discuss their group with the
freshmen.
"It is so important that
every freshman is well
informed of all the activities
on campus before they must
select the ones in which they
will be participating for the
next four years," chairman
Dorothy Beechner said.

The call is out for all men
interested in trying out for
the University of Nebras
ka freshman or varsity swim
ming team.
All freshman or upper
classmen interested are re
quested to take the required
competitive athletics to be
given Wednesday, October 8,
at 7:00 p.m. at the Student
Health Service. Men cannot
participate in athletics with
out the physical. .
Candidates must also con
tact Coach Lollie Hepley, im
mediately, at his office in the
Men's Physical Education
Building between 9:00 a.m.
and 4:00 a.m. or at the Coli
seum swimming pool between
4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
A pre-season conditioning
program for all prospects will
begin Monday, October 6, at
4:00 p.m. in the basement ex
ercise rooms in the Coliseum.
The first competition will
begin .with the Freshman
Varsity swim meet on Fri
day, November 21, at 4:00
p.m.
