When the spray failed to kill the insects, the University campus up keep department was notified. Us ing a spray containing pyrethrum, the men from the Upkeep Depart ment sprayed the front of the build ing and the bushes surrounding the entrance. One large nest By the door was tom down and destroyed and two nests by the windows were sprayed in an attempt to destroy the insects McKeen observed that the wasps were small and must have been the young from the nests. They did hot appear to be irritated. The warmth of the sun shining on the south side of the building attracted them, according to Mc Keen. No one was stung by the wasps but many were forced to detour to other entrances in order to enter the building.
