Need for Clothing Stressed by YW As College YW girl aie re minded not to forget the Ag YW clothing drive. All kinds of clothing are needed, especially warm winter clothing. All contributions will be sent to the "Neighbor House" in Ger many. This house was built by the youth of the Berlin sector. Clothes should be left in the box on second floor, Home Eco nomics building. Freshman Poll Praises Work Of Big Sisters Three hundred twenty-seven freshmen colds -vho were con tacted by members of the Coed Counselor boa id in a recent sur vey indicated that they have been contacted by a "Big Sister" and have received benefit from their help this year. Of the some 400 girls contacted, 262 stated that they are definite ly interested in the organization and would be interested in being a Coed Counselor during their college career. This survey, the first of its kind to be taken on the Nebraska campus, was conducted in order to evaluate the work of the Coed Counselors and to obtain help ful information from freshmen coeds. Other results of the survey show that 59 freshmen girls have haJ at least one contact with their "Big Sister;" 18 have been con tacted by telephone only; 16 have had no contact at all; 27 indi cated that they have no time for the organization and 21 who are married or older expressed no need for "Big Sisters." When asked the question "Do you feel that these contacts have been beneficial to you?" 236 freshmen answered affirmatively that the organization had been beneficial; 61 answered that it had been fairly beneficial; 57 an swered that it had not been bene ficial; 62 indicated that they didn't want or need a "Big Sister;" and 17 indicated that they were too busy for a "Big Sister." Among the other responses to the question, "Are you interested in being a Coed Counselor?" 62 girls were doubtful and 75 were not interested. Navy Officers Recruit in Union The two navy officers stationed in the Union's booth are recruit ists for "Nebraska's Weekend Warriors." The Naval Air Reserve offers, besides regular pay, aviation training, retirement benefits, and companionship. Training is held at the Lincoln municipal airport. Both men and women between the ages of 17-40. whether vet eran or non-veteran, may join. The reserves train only one weekend a month and for two weeks during the summer.
