This sub-committee shall be noti
fied as to the operation of the
publication and its staff appoint
ments. 3. The sub-committee on Gen
eral Organization shall control,
through the office of the Dean of
Student Affairs, the establish
ment, operation and termination
of any organization created by or
operated for students. This will
include fraternities, sororities, and
all other organizations approved
by the Student Council.
Social Affairs
Members of the sub-committee
n Social Affairs are Dean of
Women Marjorie Johnson (chair
man), Prof. H. P. Davis, Ag col
lege, (vice chairman), Prof. W. H.
Morton, Teachers college, Miss
Mary Mielenz, Teachers college;
and A. J. Lewandowski, Business
Manager of Athletics.
The sub-committee on Publica
tions: Prof. R. V. Shumate, Arts
and Sciences college (chairman),
Miss Mary E. Guthrie, Ag college:
W. C. Harper, director of the Di
vision of Commercial Activities;
and T. J. Thompson, Dean of
Student Affairs.
Publications
The Publications sub-committee
will also have as an ex-officio
member, a Faculty Advisor to
Student Publications. The Adviser
will assist the Daily Nrbraskan,
the Cornhusker and Corn Shucks
with problems of production. The
advisor, to be a member of the
University professional staff, will
devote a prescribed number of
hours a week,, to the task of as
sisting student' editorial and busi
ness staffs. The advisor, Dean
Graduation Made Easy
A change in graduation re
quirements will begin with the
class of '50 at the Illinois Wes
leyan University. The usual C
average requirement is changed
to a C-average as the student en
ters his last 90 hours before grad
uation. This will help in getting ad
justed to college and in finding
the proper field for the student.
Thompson said, may be appointed
next week.
The sub-committee on general
organizations: Prof. C. M. Elliot,
Business Administration college
(chairman); Prof. Morton (vice
chairman); W. D. Harper, Miss
Luvicy M. Hill, Teachers college;
and Prof. E. F. Schramm, Arts
and Science college.
Replacements to the committee
will be established on a rotating
basis so that approximately a third
of its membership will change
from year to year.
Dance to Close
ISA Drive for
New Members
A free dance to holders of ISA
membership cards will climax the
1949-50 membership campaign
which begins Monday.
Price of membership this year
is 50 cents a semester, or 75 cents
a year. ISA council members will
be selling memberships. Hours
during which booths will be open
are:
City and Ag Unions, 11 a. m.
2 p. m.
Sosh 9 a. m.-4 p. m.
Dorm 4-6 p. m.
Social activities scheduled for
the year include:
