. Morris Gives Instructions
To Card Section Members
"A novel idea is in store for
Nebraska football fans," says
Jerry Morris, manager of the
card section for Gamma Lambda,
band fraternity, speaking of the
moving pictures to be tried Sat
urday. Gamma Lambda is planning
the card section this year. All
flashes are coordinated with the
band formations on the field.
This week the theme will be
"transportation."
Morris Says "Thanks'
Morris also expressed his
thanks for the fine spirit shown
by the card holders at last Sat
urday's game.
Instructions for the coming
game are as follows: Students
sitting in the card section are
requested to study these direc
tions carefully.
The first two flashes are the
same as those in the past and
will be done in the same man
ner. Moving: Cards
The rest of the show is series
of moving cards with two dis
tinct parts.
The group will be divided into
three sections:
S meaning stationary these
are not changed or moved
throughout the series of flashes.
They will be flashed on the
count of three.
M meaning moving section
the people in this section move
their cards in the following man
ner: Hold card by the top. Flash
the card on count 3. As the
counting starts over the card
holder will move his card clock
wise (if M-l) and counter-clockwise
(if M-2) in this way:
For M-l on count 1 both
hands on top of the sheet. On
count 2 reach with left hand to
the top sheet of the person sit
ting on your left, and on count
3, hand card to the person hold
ing your card and take the card
that you have hold of and hold it
in front of you.
Repeat this seven more times.
On the 7th time the signal will
be prepare 1, prepare 2, back 3.
The next count will reverse and
go the opposite way (counter
clockwise) for 8 times.
M-2 is the same as M-l except
pass the cards counter-clockwise.
Reach to the right with the right
hand.
For Center Section
C center section on count 3
flash card for flash number 3
and hold until you hear these
cues: Prepare 1: prepare 2; back
3, and flash the next card on the
following 1 count.
The difficulty of hearing the
counts will be relieved if those
who can hear will shout the
count. Card holders are to be re
minded of the need to save their
cards. Mimeograph copies of in-
striuctions will also be on the
card holder's seat.
There have been some changes
in the seating in the card section.
Some students who formerly sat
in the card section will be
changed to seats in other parts of
the stadium.
