Fortune Teller: "You'll be a vic tim of much unhappiness and pov erty until you are 50." "And then?" "After that you won't notice it." From the Sports Desk . . . Jack Best is out. There is nothing we can say or do the trophy has been retired for at least a year. Whether this drastic move will improve the over crowded intramural set-up or not remains to be seen. The problem now is will competition in I.M. activities subside into a slow moving program or will it remain to be spirited as is the American custom. We agree wholeheartedly, with the intramural depart ment, that the old program was too crowwded and had too many sports overlapping. When it comes to removing the prize and reward for the high point winners, we are inclined to wonder about the spirit of rivalry and competition which prevails whenever groups of organizations pit themselves against one another. If Nebraska can be one of the few schools that can run an intramural system without a just reward for the over-all winners, more power to them. We sincerely hope it can be done. If not, there might be some change of rules which removed all points given for participation and con centrate all point giving to the winners in the various classes. One of the main reasons, given by the directors of the intramural department, for the removal of the trophy was the forcing of men from some organization to enter an activity simply to gain participation points for his group.
