Y. Thompson, president of the Board of Regents, said the budget represents an overall 12 per cent reduction in funds re quested by the deans and direc tors of the University's various colleges and divisions. The difference in funds avail able to the University and the school's needs are being met by several actions. These steps en abled the University to give small increases in funds to several agencies, including the Ag college, the Agricultural Experiment Sta tion, the College of Medicine and the University hospital.
