Vets Leaving School to Receive VA Check After Semester End Veterans now in school who do not register for second semester will automatically receive leave subsistence for 15 days after the close of the first semester. This is in accordance with the regulation of the Veterans Administration and applies only to those veterans under P. L. 34G (the G. I. Bill). Each veteran who receives this leave subsistence will have 15 days deducted from his remaining time entitlement. If his time en titlement has expired the leave subsistence will not be paid. Conserve Entitlement Anv veteran who wishes to conserve his time entitlement and who does not wish to have 15 days deducted from it, should notify the Veterans Administration, 12th and n St roots. A veteran wishing to change his course of study must get permis sion from VA before making the move or be dropped from subsis tence rolls under the law which prohibits such payments to veter ans pursuing courses not approved by the agency. Ashley Westmoreland, Lincoln regional office manager, also advised those carrying GI policies to study the various optional methods of set tlement available for payment of insurance proceeds to beneficiar ies.
