Strong Competition Expected
In City Swim Meet Aug. 3
Lincoln people will witness one
of the most highly contested swim
meets in city swim meet history
when aqua artists from Lincoln
gather at Capitol Beach Tues
day, Aug. 3 to settle city swim
honors.
This year' festival has been
broken up to insure a - more
speedy run-off and offer more
competition for the swimmers.
The city junior' championships
will be run off at the municipal
pool Friday, , July 30 at 7 p. m.
The senior title will be settled
at Capitol Beach the following
Tuesday.
Local Talent.
A gathering of local talent will
be set to make it tough for last
year's winners with keen com
petition seen in the men's senior

To Schuyler With Swim Team
In conjunction with his state
wide swim program, Coach Hollie
Lepley of the University of Ne
braska is ; taking his exHibition
team of university swimmers and
divers and, prospective merman
on tours o pools throughout the
state.
In an effort to stimulate1 inter
est and competition, Lepley's ex
hibitioners will travel to Schuy
ler today,- York, Aug. 4, and Wil
ber, Aug. 10 having performed at
Tecumseh on July 16.

year swimming the 50 and 100
yard freestyle and coming thru

trailed Grimm by must two points
to take runner-up honors.

mers and divers competing for
the individual honors include:
Gould "Fig" Flagg, second place
conference diver; Jack Campbell,
backstroker and freestyle; Marvin
Grimm, freestyle. Frosh swim
mers include Bill Greer, Chick
Thompson and Bob Bicket.

government service as War De
partment employee in 1942. Dur
ing the war years she was classi
fication analyst at the Benicia,
Calif., Army Ordnance Arsenal,
leaving in May 1946, for over
seas duty within the Far East
Command.
