Friday, May 21, 1948 THE DAILY NEBRASKAN Page 5 Mnh'rp a Deculiar scent in the ir? Don't be fooled. The Rag is not being printed on limburger sprayed newsprint. No, this new unbecoming ordor can be credited to a different source final ex aminations are almost upon us. Ah, but don't fret, don't weep. After you've read this article finals will be a cinch, a literal snap. To adequately pass a final exam the first thing that the prospective passee (new word) must know is how to secure the numerous devices and instru ments so necessary for a success ful test. For the benefit of both of the people reading this pillar of prose, here is a semi-complete list of all final examination needs. 1. The Acme Awakener. This handy device consists of a sack ful of water and a Guy Lombardo record. It is used for students falling asleep studying for an early 8 o'clock. If the student should doze, first the sack of water is mechanically dumped on the student's head. If this means is to no avail then the Lombardo record automatically plays which is enough to -.make anyone wake up to turn it off. 2. The Acme Pounder-Inner. This clever tool is very useful for pupils who find that they are in capable of absorbing anything. It consists of a pressed-rubber hammer with a miniature trap door at one end. Vital informa tion is crammed in the opening after the dullard methodically pounds the facts into his head. 3. The Acme Crib-ear. This is the first of a long list of mental assistants or cribbing devices. The Crib-ear is a small piece of adhesive paper. It is enfastened onto the back of the ear of the individual sitting in the next saat to the front. By merely observ ing the position of a neighbor's ear, the mental delinquent can record the too-tricky answer. This method is called writing by ear. 4. The Acme Invisible Paint Set. The individual comes to the examination room an hour early. He smears the questions on the ceiling of the test chamber with a generous coat of specially prepared Acme invisible paint. Then, during the exam, he wears a unique pair of dark glasses, the only means with which to read the painted cribs. 5. The Acme Excuse Container. This box, containing documents that rival the Freedom Train in value, is indespensible to the forgetter. or the person who just couldn't quite make that exam at 8 a. m. as he got in at 8:30. In this priceless catalogue there are listed literally hundreds of use ful excuses. A few are as fol lows. The "I couldn't make the ex am, I was stricken temporarily insane" excuse. The "Nobody told me, I haven't been to class for 12 weeks" ex cuse. The "I couldn't help it, the first floor of our eight story apartment house burnt down" ex cuse. The "It must have been one of my twin brothers" excuse. The "Is this a history class? I thought it was a place to take a nap" excuse. Patience, Orv. The "I thought we got graded on our personalities" excuse. The "Dont's confuse me, I got another test to study for" excuse This concludes the Acme list of better examination helpers. We know that you will find great success in all Acme products. But heres a little warning. DON'T COME TO US NEXT YEAR WHEN YOU'RE TAKING THE COURSES OVER AGAIN!
