Tuesday, May 18, 1948 T Missouri Frosh Defeat Huskers in University of Missouri de feated Nebraska 70 to 51 in a postal freshmen outdoor track and field meet. Mountford Tops Huskers. Bill Mountford of Red Cloud was the Huskers' outstanding scorer wnn 11 points. He won the 880-yard run in 1:58, took second in trie mile run and 440 yard dash. Fritz Davis of Lincoln won the discus with a toss of 140 feet-4 inches and the shotput with a 45 foot-7 inch effort. Burney Wins Two. The Huskers' other double winner was Darrell Burney of DeWitt, winning the high jump (6-1) and Broad jump (21-11). Missouri's Vanet scored a triple win and ran on the Tigers' winning relay team.
