Vets' Notice Nebraska veterans now at tending: schools or colleges and receiving' subsistence allow ances were today warned to be sure those allowances have been discontinued before ap plying for jobless pay under the G.I. Bill of Rights. The warning came from R. T. Ma lone, Director of the State Division of Placement and Un employment Insurance, which administers the jobless pay provisions of the G.I. Bill jointly with the Veterans Ad ministration. Special note should be made of the fact that unless the vet eran while attending school, and at least thirty days before the end of the semester, re quests termination of subsis tence allowance, the payments are continued automatically for fifteen consecutive calendar days. The law does not permit overlap of both kinds of bene fits. Mr. Malone pointed out that in between school terms and during vacation periods veter ans who wish to qualify for jobless pay must be available and seeking work and willing to accept suitable work. The veterans were cautioned to use special care to see that they do not accept allowances to which they are not entitled. In such cases the law provides heavy penalties and forfeiture of all future allowances.
