Union music activities committee has a "Mystery .Tune" stunt all its own! And with the prizes, too. ' During its regular Thursday afternoon hour of recorded music in the Union music room at 4:15 p. m., the committee this week will stage a miniature music con test, offering to record albums as prizes for students who can name both title and composer of six se lections. Called "Musiquiz," the event is the first of its kind to be spon sored by the committee, and may recur at regular intervals if the response this Saturday is favor able, according to the commit tee chairman, Rex Pettijohn. Asking the questions will be Sally Sipple, committee member, Questions on both popular and serious music will be asked, and prizes awarded accordingly. An album of "Jazz at the Philhar monic," featuring the group sponsored at the coliseum by .the Union last fall, will be given as the popular-music prize. Khatch aturian's "Gayne Ballet Suite," which has achieved popularity chiefly for its "Sabre Dance," will be the prize in the serious music field. Upon announcing the program, Innocents President Johnson said that he believed the scholarship activity competition would fill an existing gap in the organization of campus activities and that it would be a fitting reward for the ideal combination of scholarship and activity which most campus organizations seek to achieve. Trophies Presented. Duane Munter, head of the In nocents committee on awards, de clared that the trophies for the past year will be presented this spring. All activities during the past year prior to campus spring elections and recent organization elections and initiations will be included. Scholarship points will be awarded on the basis of the posi tion of organizations in relation to the standings of other men's or ganizations. The number of organ ization members on the honor roll announced at the 1947 honors con vocation will be figured in the scholarship totals.
