Head Grid Coach Bemie Mas
terson announced Friday that 28
members of the 1947 University
of Nebraska football squad were
awarded major letters.
Of the 28 men to receive the
grid awards, 11 were first-time
major letter winners. A player
must see 75 minutes of action to
earn a major award.
A look at the squad'F iron-men
shows that Tom Novak played a
total of 452 minutes to top the
list. Charles Toogood, playing his
first varsity football, saw 429
minutes of action; Carl Samuel
son played 421 minutes; Jack
Pesek, 386; Fred Lorenz, 376; and
Dale Adams, 337.
The letters awarded went to

Big Six Meet
With two games under its belt,
the University of Nebraska bas
ketball team will meet two more
opponents and participate in the
Kansas City tournament before
the Christmas holiday trip west.
Tuesday night the University of
South Dakota will travel to Lin
coln to meet the Huskers. The
Scarlet caeers then go to Kansas
City for the pre-season Big Six
tournament, Dec 18-"20. And the
final test before the western trip
is with Colorado A. & M., Dec. 23,
on the Husker court.

forced to turn in his suit because
of part-time employment. Don
Claussen, also from Omaha, was
unable to round into shape and
turned in his uniform.
Miller Presents Coniliusker
Gymnasts In Dress Rehearsal
The N. U. gymnastic squad will make its first ap
pearance of the season Tuesday evening during the half
time of the Nebraska-South Dakota basketball game.
Coach Charlie Miller's gymnasts will perform on the
horizontal bar, which will be set up on the court during the

IM Spotlight
Bowling along with basketball
continued to dominate the IM ac
tivity as bowling teams prepared
for the last round of play which
is set for Tuesday night
Final riayeffs.
Wednesday those teams that
landed in either the first or sec
ond positions in their respective
leagues will compete in the final
playoffs.
Teams will roll for high score
with the top six receiving extra
points in the Jack Best race.
AGE'S Win.
Alpha Gamma Rho took a 25-16
decision from Delta Sigma Pi in
the only Intramural basketball
game played Thursday evening.
The Phi Delta Theta-Phi Alpha
Theta game scheduled for Friday
evening was postponed until a
later date.

An intra-squad meet will be
held in the coliseum this Wednes
day to determine who will com
pete for the Huskers when they

"Jake" Geier will judge the meet.
Men who win the top three places
in each event will be entered in
the competition at Illinois.
