Arlis Swanson will take the leading role in Martin Flavin's psychopathic drama, "Cihldren of the Moon" tonight in the Ex perimental theatre's current series of one-act plays Playwright Flavin spoke at a University of Nebraska convocation last year -nuaren 01 me Moon," a three-act drama by Martin Flavin who lectured here last year, will be presented as a free production to the public Monday evening at 7:30 on the Temple theater stage. This is the first of the series of plays, "A Cavalcade of Modern Drama," which will be presented this week by students of the speech and dramatic department on this campus, assisted by mem bers of the Nebraska Masquers, University theater honorary. Enrlish Setting. In "Children of the Moon," the action takes place at the Atherton residence, located on the lonely Dover seacoast in England. The plot centers about the domination of Laura Atherton over the other members of the household. There is an inherent weakness in the Atherton strain. When the moon is full a form of insanity grips the male members of Die family. The only surviving mule in the family line is old Judge Atherton, whose daughter, Laura, employs the power of suggestion to wreck the romance of her young daugh ter, Jane, and on aviator, Major John Bannister. Production Cast. Attempting to maintain some semblance of normal relationships is the elderly Madame Atherton. and the old family physician, Dr. Wetherell. Playing the part of Laura Ath erton is Barbara Jean Olson, Av rum Bondarin takes the part of the old judge, and Arlis Swanson portrays her daughter. Jane. Ma jor John Bannister is played by Dewey Ganzcl, Madame Atherton by Beverly Cummins, and Dr. Wetherell by Jack Wcnstrand. Other cast members Include Thomas, the family butler, played by Claude Underwood, and Walter Higgs, Bannister's co-pilot, by Merle Stalder.
