The evaluation was div ided into
four sections: news value and
jiources; news writing and edit
ing; headlines, typography and
makeup; and department pages
and special leatures. Honor rat
ings this year ranged from All
American to fourth class; no race
makers were awarded.
In appraising the news value of
the Daily Nebraskan, the judges
said, "Nebraskan reporters seem
to be doing an excellent job of
covering the campus news."
The ACr stresses that the pur
pose in scoring newspapers "is
the effectiveness with which they
serve their individual schools. It
is not to create inter-school ri
valry, but to provide an agcnc
by which staffs may be aided ir
giving their schools and commu
nities a significant publication,
and to help the staffs in the solu
tion of their problems."
