Page 4 THE DAILY NEBRASKAN Wednesday, March 12, 1947 Seniors Give Vocal Recital Today at 4 Continuing its series of senior recitals, the school of fine arts will present Charline and Arline Shepard and Robert Rouch in vocal recital today at 4 p. m in the Union ballroom. Transfering from Morningside College in Iowa, the Shepard twins are identical in tastes and interests as well as in appear ance. Both sopranos, they will sing a group of four songs, each In cluding an operatic aria. They will join to close the program in a duet-arrangement of Brahms "The Gypsies." While at Morningside, the Shepards were active in radio work, as well as in music. Writ ing and producing radio scripts, they also authored dramatic skits which they presented in various Iowa high schools. They are members of University Singers. Tenor Robert Rouch will as sist the twins, singing English, German and Italian numbers. Mr. Rouch will be remembered as the Harlequin, Peppe, in February's production of "Pagliacci.' Also a member of Singers, he was a soloist in several university ora tories before leaving for the serv ice in '41. Commission Group Meetings First of a series of YWCA fresh man committee group meetings will be held Wednesday at 4 p. m, in the Home Economics parlors. The theme of the meeting will be a "Popeye Party," and all Ag freshmen women may attend. The commission group was or ganized to aid in familiarizing freshmen with the activities of the campus division of YWCA Regular meetings will be sched uled and will include tours to various points of interest around the campuses. Serigraphs, "The Pink Barn" by Mrs. Clara Allen and "Red Rocks" by Murray Turnbull, are on exhi bition in the Northwest Print- makers annual exhibition, Seattle, Washington. Mr. Turnbull's litho graph, "Wooden Fillies," is also in the Seattle exhibit. "The Conversation," a water' color by Miss Faulkner, is being snown in the 11th annual water- color exhibition of San Francisco Art association at San Francisco. Dwight Kirsch's oil "The Town Pump." is on exhibition in the 9th Annual exhibition of paint ings by artists west of the Missis sippi, at the Colorado Springs, Colorado, Fine Arts center. Action, Faith Of Christians To Be Discussed Mrs. Mary Prince, chairman of the state board of control, and Mrs. Roscoe Hill, vice president of the Council Social Agencies and a member of the Lincoln Board of Education, will lead a discussion on "Christian Faith and Action in the Community" with special re erence to institutional problems.
