Ttte Hawkeyes broke four pool records during the meet, the 300 yard medley relay, the 200 yard free style, the 150 yard back stroke, and the 400 yard free style relay. Lone bright spot for the Ilusker coach Ilollie Lepley was sprinter Marvin Grimm's work. Grimm, who flirted with pool records all afternoon, broke the five year mark of Billy Edwards in the 100 yard free style event. He swam the distance in 54 seconds, clip ping one full second off Edwards' mark. Aside from Grimm- no Nebraska man could place higher than third. The Iowans got off to a fast lead, winning the opening medley relay event by one and a half laps and following with firs,t and second places in the 200 yard free style match. Grimm then enlivened Ne braska's hopes' with a close vic tory in the 50 yard free style. He nearly broke that record too, fin ishing in 24.8 seconds, one tenth of a second off the pool mark. The four contestants completed the race within three yards of each other. The Wilbur ace trailed at the second and third turns but turned on a last lap spurt that carried him to victory. The team from Iowa City again finished 1-2 as Duane Draves clipped five seconds off the ex isting 150 yard back stroke pool record with a mark of 1:40.6. Ne braska was never in the race. The Nebraska wrestling squad waited until late in the evening to unleash its scoring power, but bowed to Iowa State 20 to 6 in a dual meet at the coliseum Mon day night. Although the Huskers lost six of the eight bouts, the feature match of the evening went to the Scarlet bone benders when Heavyweight Mike DiBiase put on a late flurry to edge the Cy clone ace Glen Brand 5 to 4. The defeat was the first in two years for the Iowa State star who placed third in the NCAA meet last winter. At the close of the first round between the two big boys there was no score, but in the second round DiBaise collected three points on an escape and a re versal while keeping Brand score less. The lightning-fast Cyclone heavy gave Big Mike a hard time in the final period, picking up one point on a rules ' infraction by DiBiase and two more on a re versal. Late in the bout the Husker scored a take-down which offset the Cyclone's one point time advantage. Harold Boker scored Nebraska's other win in the 175 pound match when he outpointed Jim Clagett 5 to 1. Boker had been out of earlier matches with infection re sulting from a mat burn and was almost completely 1 exhausted at the close of his tussle with Cla gett. The fall scored by Gene Ewold sen over Peewee Yambor in the 121 pound class was the only pin of the evening, but the Cy clone grapplers dominated the lighter divisions, winning by sizable margins in every match. Jack Tamai put up the best battle among the beaten UN mat men as he bowed to Dick Dits worth by a 4-0 count. 121 pounds Gene Kwoldsen (IS) pin ned Bob Yambor (N) in 8:50 with double arm lock. 128 pounds Charles Nelson (IS) de clsioned Mickey Kelly (N) lu-3. 138 pounds Lewis Larson .
