Page 4 THE DAILY NEBRASKAN Tues'day, February II, 19471 "i - in- City Musical Group Sets AuditionDate To discover and display the best of Lincoln's musical talent, the Lincoln Symphony associa tion will hold a competitive audi tion for vocalists and instrumetal ists March 1. Winner of the competition will be afforded the opportunity to present a solo appearance with orchestral accompaniment at a public concert to be held at the Stuart theater April 23. The audition is open to Lincoln residents between the ages of 17 and 26 inclusive, who are study ing music with a teacher residing in Lincoln. Members of the sym phony board will constitute the audition committee. Applications, Applications must be made in writing, must include the signa ture of the teacher indicating ap proval to enter the audition, and must be mailed to Ted Butterfield, manager, Lincoln Symphony as sociation, by Feb. 20. Other requirements are that the participant choose a selection available in the standard orches tral libraries, and that he play the same piece for the solo appear ance as for the audition. He must also furnish his own accompanist, and will be required to pay the rental of the orchestral score which he uses.
