Several present and former unl
versity faculty members have
contributed to the winter Issue of
"Prairie Schooner," the univer
sity literary quarterly recently
published.
Loren C. Eiseley, who wrote
"Missing Link or Hybrid
Which?" was formerly connected
with the anthropology depart
ment and is now chairman of the
Oberlin college department of
sociology.
Floyd W. Hoover, assistant di
rector of admissions, drew on his
store of experiences as a Mon
tana teacher for his humorous ar
tide, "The Cowboy Still Rides."
Satire is provided by F. L. Chris
tensen, an associate editor of
"Prairie Schooner," in "Time and
the Frog."
There is a series of poems,
'"Breaks in Oregon," by a pro
fessor in the English department
writing under the pen name,
"Conrad Pendleton." B e r n i c e
Slote, also of the English depart
ment, has a poem, "Apothecary
Shop," in the publication.
Robert Aldrich, university
alumnus and son of Bess Streeter
Aldrich, offers a satire, "How to
Write a How-To Book."

Home Economics
Club Holds Sign
Off Parly Tonilc
The Home Economics Club will
hold its last meeting of the se
mester today, Jan. 14, in the par
lors of the Home Economics
building, at 4:45 p. m., according
to President Marilyn Hartsook.
This last meeting has been ap
propriately called the Sign Off
party. A discussion of the year's
activity will be discussed and
nominees for club second semes
ter officers will be presented.
Election of officers for both the
Home Ec Club and Ag YWCA
will be held at the same time in
the Homo Ec building, Wednes
day and Thursday.
Mary Louise licit and Vivian
Frasier are in charge of arrange
ments and refreshments, and
Piiscilla Flagg is in charge of
the program for the evening.
March of Time
Film Shown Today
Today's siesta film hour will
feature a March of Time reel on
"The Philippine Republic." In
addition, there will be several
novel short features and cartoons.
The film hour is held in the
lounge of the Union.
A documentary film entitled
"True Glory" will be shown in
the Union ball 'room tomorrow
afternoon at 4 p. m. The picture,
said to be one of the best docu
mental films produced, is made
up of highlights of the American
GI's in World war II.
