Miss Bacon's "Winter Sport" is in the Hall collection and her "Allure" in the Gregg collection. She is best known for her etch ings as shown now in Morrill Hall but she has also done book il lustrating, drawings and pastels. She illustrated the best seller, "With Malice Toward Some." Hall Collection. This year's Nebraska Art as sociation exhibition included her, "A Desperate Character." The Hall collection contains a picture of Miss Bacon called "Peggy Bacon and Metaphysics" by her former husband, Alexander Brooks. "Aesthetic Pleasure," "Summer Folks," "Happy Holiday" are some of Miss Bacon's etchings in the current exhibition. Portray ing all phases of life, the echings are satirical and often are carica tures of certain types of people. Yasuo Kuniqoshi, whose litho graphs are exhibited, won first place in the Carnegie National and Pennsylvania Academy ex hibitions with his "Spanish So prano," purchased lor the Hall i collection two years ago. His "Room 110" was purchased last 7 6 V AA H J w THE NEBRASKAN year. In addition to his speciliza tion in still life, he also does landscapes, animals, groups of fig ures and portraits. Some of his lithographs now hanging on the south and east walls of Gallery B are "Circus Performer," "Pretzels," "Free Lodging," "Two Acrobats" and "Bull Fight." They date back until 1926 and show the various phases of Kuniyoshi's art en deavors. "This exhibition of the litho graph's of Kuniyoshi and etch ings of Peggy Bacon is an excel lent tie up with this year's past Nebraska Art association exhibi tions," according to Prof. Dwight Kirsch, head of the art depart ment.
