BY PAT TOOF.
"How to lose friends and alien
ate people" might be called the
theme of this, but really it's only
stuff you guys and gals might
be interested in. Anyway, peo
ple went out Friday night in
cluding Dona Leigh Brugh, Theta,
with a man who wasn't her cus
tomary Bill Swanson. Instead
she chose a brother Beta from
Knox College the man in ques
tion is Lt. L. D. Naffziger, NROTC
officer.
Speaking of Betas . . . pledge Bill
Barrett latched on to a Saturday
night date with DG Jody Harrison
. . . Don't worry, Bill, maybe Don
will fall down the Phi Delt stairs
or something. ,
Forgot to mention before that
the ATO Sid Salzman and Phi
Bev Ramer duo has broken up
. . . What happened, Casanova . . .
Too much worry about brother
Sid's troubles make you slip up
on your own?
Rehearsing.
Still talking about that Sig Chi
party of Friday night . . . Chi
O Fran Poulos took a switch to
Paul Buckly . . . but how about
Rog Johnson, NRO, Fran? Or
did you straighten it all out Sat
urday night? Incidentally, it has
finally been, decided that Allen
Cline kept company in the modern-theme
with cute Patty Guhin.
But the big news at the party
was that Marilyn Dennison was
chosen to be the sweetheart of the
Sigma Chi pledges. Her proud
escort was Frank Schmechel.
The Popcorn theme of the Phi
Tsi party Saturday night has
popped" into the light with the
spot on "real cute" Hank Heidt
brink and Jean Skinkle, APOi.
Raised eyebrows at Pete Foe with
Kappa Ginny Turner . . . Too bad
about AWS rules, Joan!
Why does Boyd Hecht, Sig Ep
Prexy, get that dreamy look in
his eyes when the boys sing of
the Delta Gammas? Eh, Shirts!
What's in a Name?
Tau Tom Noble seems to have
a little trouble getting his Jo's
straight at the Theta house . . .
Shall we mention again that Jo
Bohrer doesn't date (supposedly)
6imply because she has already
chosen her man, but "Ack" is a
swell girl, too.
Tri Delt Marilyn Stevens soon
will turn her back on the festiv
ities here and trip up to Chicago
to keep a weekend date with a
man just back from the Pacific
. . . Correspondence is a wonder
ful thin?.
Seen having an exciting time
at the Sigma Kappa barn dance
Saturday night . . . Bonnie Voss
with NRO Bill Ledkelter . . .
Bob Keiffe, Sig Ep and Topsey
Ramsay, too. Question: Is this
a steady duo or have they just
been seeing a lot of each other?

prevent runners from cutting
corners or taking short cuts.
The race will finish in front
of .the reviewing stand on the in
tramural field, and the Turkey
day queen and her court will be
on hand in the reviewing stand
to present twenty prizes to the
winners as well as the egg to
the last man across the line.
Darkness may be falling before
the last place winner shows up,
but he will get his prize all the
same.
A portion of the race will be
run on the stadium track, since
the course enters the stadium at
the southeast corner and follows
the cinder track to the northwest
corner where the runners again
take to the open country for a
turn around the field house and
then down the borne stretch to
the reviewing stand.
Each man will wear a number,
and 'a team champion will be de
termined as well as the individual
winner. As an extra bonus, ten
points will be awarded to every
organization that has twelve men
finish the race.
Only members of the track
squad and two mile team were
barred from the event and it
should be a wide open race, with
no holds barred.

its new Bob Hope comedy, "Mon

Oklahoma A. & M.
Lends Doel Reed
Etchings to Union
BY GENENE MITCHELL.
Aquatints and etchings loaned
by Doel Reed and his students
from the Oklahoma Agricultural
and Mechanical college are being
featured in the game room of the
Union this month.
The etchings of Doel Reed are
particularly outstanding. Scenery
with touches of typical Oklahoma
landscape are his specialty, but in
"Interlude" and "Work Without
Glory" his ability for portraits
is well illustrated. Well done
among his landscapes are "Spring
Along the Cimarron" and "Sep
tember Sun."
