45 May Queen, whose identity
will be revealed on Ivy Day, May
5, are Dorothy Carnahan, Myra
Colberg, Chita Hill, Peggy Lar
son, Gloria Mardis and. Barbara
Stahl.
The candidates . will be voted
upon by all junior and senior
women today in Ellen Smith Hall
and the Home Ec building.

There is to be no Friday eve

week as the fraternities are using

University Grad,
Dies in Europe
Lt. Edwin Max Ebeling, uni
versity graduate, was killed in ac
tion in the European theater, ac
cording to word received from the
war department Monday.
Ebeling, 23, graduated from the
college of business administration
in 1943 with a bachelor of science
degree. He was a member of
Delta Sigma Pi.
Lt. Ebeling, an infantry officer,
had been wounded last December
but was returned to action. Pre
viously, in November, he partici
pated in a battlefield incident
which gained wide notice in news
papers. An infantryman was wounded
in such a manner that normal
breathing was impossible, but was
operated on by a medical corps
man. Lt. Ebeling held the
wounded man thruout the opera
tions which was described by sur
geons as highly skillful and suc
cessful. Ebeling is survived by his moth
er and a brother, Lt. Richard
Ebeling, a glider and troop car
rier plane pilot wTlo served in the
Pacific theater.

Coeds Vote
At Elections
From 9 to 6
Today's voting in the annual
women's spring election will de
termine AWS Board, Coed Coun
selor Board BABW, and May
Queen. Polls are located in El
len Smith hall on the city cam
pus and in the Home Ec building
on ag campus, and will be open
from 9 a. m. to 6 p. m.
All coeds are eligible to vote
on AWS Board and Coed Coun
selors slates. In addition, unaf
filiated women vote on the BABW
slate.
Junior and senior coeds only
vote for the May Queen on a
separate ballot provided. An
other ballot for juniors and
seniors only provides space for
voters to list up to 20 junior
women whom they think are
eligible for Mortar Board.
In order to vote, coeds must
present their student identifica
tion cards at the polls.
The slate which will be voted
upon today was released by the
respective organizations.

and Claire Kepler. Miss Holtz
scherer is a member of . the AWS
board, YWCA, Tassels, WAA
