Today Observing ore of the few re maining traditions on the campus, students will attend the 15th an nual honors convocation this morn ing: at 10:4 5 in the coliseum. All labooatories and libraries will be closed accord ing to these periods. This will mean that 10 o'clock classes will be only 30 minutes in length on the city campus. Student Council Sponsors. Under the promotion of the Student Council, honors convo cation is planned to recognize those who have made outstanding records in scholarship. Chancel lor Boucher will preside. Charles Franklin Kettering, vice president of General Motors and a famed scientist, will give the ad dress. His subject will be "Post War Education." Music will be furnished by the Nebraska Sym phony orchestra. Urge Students to Attend. All students are urged by Dick Harnsberger, president of the Stu dent Council, to attend this con vocation to honor all students who have achieved recognition in all colleges and departments of the university. New members will be added to the honor roll, along with publication of the new ly elected members of the various honoraries. YWCA Vespers Conducts Special Easter Services Climaxing the semester of Ves per programs held by the YW Vesper staff, a special Easter serv ice will be held this afternoon at 5:30. All university women are invited to participate in this cele bration of Holy Week. Vesper choir is directed by Jes sie Lou Tyler, while the program is in charge of Anne Wellensiek. ;The ceremonies will be held in candlelight. I Only two more regular Vesper services will be held this year, I after the Easter celebration, ac cording to Miss Wellensiek. play "Claudia" April 28, 29 and 30 are going well, according to Director Joe Zimmerman. Playing the title role of this appealing story, which was a hit on Broadway and is now being made into a movie in Hollywood, is Dorothy James. First act of the play was presented before the Faculty Women's club April 14. Name Complete Cast. The cast includes Marjorie Christenscn as the mother of Claudia; Robert Black as Claudia's husband, David Naughton; Joe Weaver Kline as the housekeeper. Bertha; Hank Lee as the hired man, Fritz; David Andrews in the part of a British author, Jerry Seymour; Bobbette Burke in the role of an opera singer, Madame Daruchka; and Mabel Joan Schmer as Julia Naughton. Story of the play concerns the spiritual and mental growth of Claudia as she changes her at titude from that of a little girl to that of a mature intelligent woman. Say Coeds . . . Present Program Aprogram was given Saturday evening at union couege oy Earnest Harrison, pianist, Mrs. Helen Travis Avery, soprano, and Miss Marjorie DeLange, cellist, of the University of Nebraska School of Music faculty. Mr. Donald Glattlv went to Geneva Friday where he judged choral groups in the district music contest. Ag Votes For Spring Goddess Even though the annual Ag Spring Party has been canceled, the tradition of choosing the God dess 61 Agriculture will not be dropped, according to Lorene Ben nett, president of Home Economics association. Last year's goddess, Ben Alice Day, was presented at the Spring Party, but since there will be no college parties this spring, plans for an outdoor presentation on May 7 are being made. Chosen from Senior Girls. The goddess and her attendants are chosen from the senior girls registe red in home economics. Any girl who meets eligibility require ments and who does not withdraw her name is considered a candi date for this honor. The Ag exec board has turned the election and presentation over to the Home Ec association. Phyllis Ellcnberger has been ap pointed general chairman.
