DAILY NEBRASKAN Tuesday, February 2, 1943 Delta Delta Delta Establishes Women's Scholarship Fund The most popular place on Ye Old Campus the past couple of weeks has been Library Hall but now it can settle back into the customary groove for four months receiving only the faithful few whose steps wander in that direc tion more than once a semester. Plenty besides exams, harried students, and smug professors happened since last your roving eve scanned this column . . . Take for instance the pin hanging of DG pledge Maddy Haecker and Beta Ernie Smithers. His Beta badge hangs beneath her DG pin and on her left hand she wears a diamond which a certain flying lieutenant gave her last summer. Maddy explains it all by saying: "it doesn't mean anything; we're just friends." Now the question is who is the friend Ernie or the Lieutenant, both, or neither. More Diamonds Sparkle. Fern Bergi en, Alpha Xi, was the lucky recoipient of a diamond from Phi Gam Claude Wright to cele brate the anniversary of their pin hanging . . . Another girl with a smile as bright as the diamond she now wears on third finger left hand is Kappa Shirley Khyn. KS Juu Evinger is due in the army quite suddenly so he gave Shir ley the ring to definitely sew everything up. The path between the Beta House and the nearest Army re ception center is getting to be a well worn one. John Anderson. Homer Sheridan, and Kenny Pet ers all leave within the next two weeks.
