Everybody Happy? Panhellcnic voted sorority participation in t he fall Kosmct Klub show out the window yesterday, finally settling the ques tion: "Will sororities participate in the show or will they not? This announcement did not come as a surprise to Kosmet Klub members, however, since the sorority houses were notified last week that they could absolutely not participate. The vote which was taken yesterday was a vote to make legal the action of the group in Panhellenic which decides policy. Kosmet Klub members are still anticipating a top show with fraternity skits and are going ahead with plans.' The Klub has announced that it will definitely not let down the bars in anyway and that the show will be up to last year's high standard. Big bone of contention over the squabble came concern the huge profits Kosmet Klub makes on the shows. Accord ing to members of the Klub, the show has made some money in; the past and that money has been wisely invested by John K. Selleck in bonds. When this fund reaches $1,000 the interest will be used for a scholarship for some worthy man or woman in the university. According to Kosmet Klub members, their scholarship plan had been laid down for some years and it was felt that this was a worthy cause even in these war years. Funds from this year's show will be turned into this fund as in the past. It would be enlightening to many groups on this campus, sororities who send a member to Panhcllenicj meetings included, to settle once and for all whether we are going to throw out all activities and traditions during the war or whether we are going to maintain some, or all of them. Kosmet Klub was the first to be picked off by members of the inner group. The surprising fact concerning this whole affair, is the sentiment of many sorority women on this campus who wanted the show and who wero willing to participate under the same set-up as last year. If the Panhellenic could get together and pass proper action on sorority sentiment, they would have a much stronger organization. The women voice their opinion one way outside of the meeting and after they are in meeting and some person cracks the whip and tells them what is to be done, the acquiesce and vote opposite of their opinions. The whole thing is slightly confusing as to where the action for the ban began and how sororities actually feel about it. In the meantime, Kosmet Klub will have a show, continue their scholarship fund which is admirable and in these times as good an investment as war charities since they will give some man or woman a chance to continue their schooling. Right now Kosmet Klub is sorry they didn't know about this final action last week. The sorority cup could have been thrown in with the scrap. Promotions (Continued from page 1.) It is really fine for picnics and stuff and I have been attending those classes which I paid for so I guess I had better stay busy with it. Sunday is always a good day for people to go to church too and I sure was surprised to sec so many of the students from here at the church I go to. It is really swell tho and I know it helps out the collection plates at those different churches. Well, Sunday night is also a swell time for some more of those picnics I said some thing about before. There are always all sorts of people out on those there picnics all over town. I am also surprised to hear how pop ular some of the little bergs near here are on Sunday because I sure hear about a lot of people who go to some town called Milton or something like that. It sure is nice to go out on Sunday though and communicate with nature. Nature sure co-operates swell because boy Sundays have sure been swell to, go out lately. I didn't go over to student health the other day like I said I was going to but I went over to have my temperature taken and boy they was sure swell to me over there. They said I really wasn't sick but would I like to go to the hospital for a rest. Then they strapped me in a strait jacket and I had a terrible time explaining, that I acted that way all the time and 1 wasn't crazy. There was sure a lot of guys over there taking some sort of a test and every time they were through taking blood out of them and testing they asked if they were positive. I guess they didn't know whether they were sure it was blood or not. Well, I got to run and meet Callie. My Dear Mr. Editor: I write to encourage you in your commend, able activities in editorializing some sense inlo the barb faction. The barbs need more of Miss May's editorialized news accounts of tho Nebraska Independents' Association, and more of your sage commentaries on barb affairs, to inform them of the position they must assume in campus activities. Certainly the wisest bit of advice you offered the barbs was, "let future students take caro, of politics." You are quite right in this view. After all, as Miss May pointed out, "politics at best can concern only a few of the 3,000 or 4,000 barb students." What are campus politics, but a little effort expanded to elect, the Student Council! Why should 3,000 or 4,000 barbs, or even a few barbs, concern themselves with the election of the Student' Council? The Student Council is not of much importance to barbs. After all, last year's Council only affected barbs by refusing to ac cept the constitution of the NIA. What dif ference docs it make if the NIA has no official ' standing on the campus today? Yes, Mr. Editor, the barbs ought to stay out. of campus politics. They should forget last year's political rabbit, the application of the Hare system to Student Council representation.' What can meddling in campus politics get the barbs, but adequate representation on the Stu-! dent Council? Why should 3,000 or 4,000 or even a few barbs want adequate representa tion on the council, when the council already' has barb interests so at heart? Really, if a few more barbs arc elected to the Council, the NIA might be given official standing. And why would any barb want that? , Yes, Mr. Editor, as usual you are right. It is best for the barbs to stick to inter-house dances and the more polite social vices. Politics' have no place in barb activities. Politics should be left to "future students" to the editor of the Daily Ncbraskan and other politically minded members of Greek letter social organ izations. ' Your friend, ELMER SPRAGUE.
