In Union Tonight
Old fashioned square dancing
will feature the first part of the
evening at the -YM-YW mixer to
night in the Union Ballroom from
8:30 to 11 o'clock.
Jean Christie Farmer will be in
charge of the evening's entertain
ment, which besides the square
dancing will include speakers,
cheer-leaders and ballroom danc
ing. Mary Lockttt, secretary of the
W. C. A., and Eugene Floyd,
secretaiy of the Y. M. C. A., will
be introduced and the cheerleaders
will lead school songs.

Omahan Sam Vacanti to Start
Against Fellow
IOWA CITY, la., Sept. 24.
Sophomore Sam Vacanti, former
fleet footed Omaha Tech halfback,
may start against his home state
aggregation, Nebraska's Corn
huskers. when they invade the
University of Iowa campus for
Saturday's tilt.
Sam has been assigned to the
No. 1 eleven this week along with
Tom Farmer, Dick Hoerner and
Bill Stauss at the other backfield
spots, as Coach Eddie Anderson
has put his charges up against
Nebraska formations displayed by
the Hawkeye frosh.
Vacanti was on the heaving end
of some long aerials in drills this
week, and may get the call for a
WAA Ronpons Activities;
Soccer Rasrball and Deck
Tennis First on Program
With .summer ended, activities
for girls will be continued on the
University campus thru various
programs sponsored by the WAA.
Soccer baseball will start Wed
nesday and deck tennis in the near
future. Participation in these
events is urged of all co-eds.
A meeting will be held for all
WAA representatives in flrant Me
morial Hall, room 101, Monday at
5:30 p. m.

Hoerner had been demoted to
the third unit after last week's
showing against Washington U. of
St. Louis, but was moved again to
the first string position.
Nebraska isn't the only gridiron
outfit bemoaning the fact that
they are without the services of a
regular center. Iowa's Bob Lauter
bach bruised a knee in practice
and Sophomore Tackle Henry
Blum has been moved to a pivot
position. Forrest Masterson of the
second lineup is also on the injury
list with a bad rib.
