From the school, which was near the Siamese Thailand boundry, he escaped southward through the rubber plantations and tropical jungle to Singapore, using the main highway which runs down the peninsula. Runs Car Off Pier. At Singapore he ran his car off a pier into the sea and caught a small Dutch steamer just before complete Japanese occupation of the city. He went to Java but was soon forced to leave as the Japs moved on. He then went to Australia and later to New Zealand, in an effort to catch a boat home. Returning to Australia he secured passage on a steamer. Dr. McKim, who will teach geo graphy of Asia and Nebraska and principles of geography has been professor of geography at Chad ron state teachers college. He will be chairman of the geography de partment at Fresno college in California next fall. Both men are expected .to make public lectures during the summer. Rabbi Albert Goldstein of Sioux City, Iowa, will present a lecture on "Hebrew Law and Lore on Love and Marriage," Thursday, June 18, at 7:30 p. m. in the Union Ballroom.
