Co-op co-operation tonight In the famed Union ballroom and all to the tune of Hank Mattison when the first of the here-and-fter annual co-op formaU gets under way. Dancing along with the rest of the couples will be Jerry Beattie and Jerry Skoog from ACBC with Wilma Marcy and Shirley Statts, Cornhusker Co op's Bob Woest and Ralph Marlette with Eileen Chappelle and Mar jorie May and president Nels Nordland from Pioneer co-op with PBK Clara Malster and Jim Wol ford with Lois Jenkins. A little deal we find a bit con foosin' but amoosin' is the ateady affair which Jerry White, DU, thinks he's pulled on Jean Crue nig, DG beauty. But how to ex plain the steady dates past, pres ent and future that she maKes with one Johnny Bauermeister, Beta Sig ? Also worthy of bold, black headlines is the picnic that Theta Adie Reed and Fiji Squash Campbell are planning for Satur day eve. Where does that leave supposedly steady Bob Slemmons, who was recently so unfortunate as to have the measles the night before he left for parts unknown in the Navy Air Corps? Will It Be Steady? Another impending steady deal is also mixed with a picnic. It Beems that while KKG Nancy Newbranch is considering settling down to Don Ana wait. Sigma j Nu, she took time out to picnic with Beta Gene Bradley. And did I you see the hang-over from the age of the mammoths in which they sallied forth? Well, it did have four tires. ... Now for the Palladian spring formal which haps this Saturday. We are about to call up our man and asV- him to take us. which is just what the girls must do to be seen at this affair d'amour. Lela Lyne finally screwed up the cour- age to ask the escortship of Don Pierce, while Berdine Ellis took the easy way out and asked Hugh Stuart, who had already dated her up for the Co-op formal. Little things around that we find humorous are the six little primary grade boys who intimi dated Betas Bill Anderson and Homer Sheridan to the pitiful point that sent them running to the house from their own back yard for protection. Suggested is a physical fitness program. . . . Then there are the Kappa sun worshippers who rolled up in blan kets yesterday when the Sigma Nus raided the Kappa back yard with cameras. . . . Also the hit that Phi Psi Dave Cusack is quite evidently making with the ag farmerettes in his chem lab on that campus. . . . Ditto the hur ried way Norrie Anderson, Phi Gam, takes over coking dates with Theta Dot Theisen while Beta John McCarthy is said to be at tending a wedding in Detroit. . . . And finally the latest hair-do on the campus that of "Veronica" Russel of Cornhusker pep. vim, and vigor. . . . They Entertain. We approve heartily of .the way Nebraska coeds are taking this business of entertaining the men who are one and all threatened with army service. One change has been made in the original cast; the stern, though kind-hearted, Colonel Rodviany will be played by Frank O'Neill in stead of Max Whittaker as was previously announced. In the ab sence of Paul Bogen and Delford Brunimer, heads of the theater now in active duty, Mr. Aron is serving in the dual capacity of stage designer and play director. WAA Holds Over-Night Party at Cabin And a gala time was had by all or will be had this Saturday night when the old and new WAA council hold their annual outing at the WAA cabin about seven miles south of Lincoln. Planned to better acquaint the various members and particularly to have a good time, the house party is an old custom in the WAA. Members are asked to bring their own beding and meet at Grant Memorial at 5:15 p. m. Saturday. Psychologically speakirg. it is sound to maintain many peace time extra-curricular activities in time of war, in the opinion of Dr. Paul White, University of Texas psychiatrist. Ray Treinen, and Jeanne Holtz with Gus Swanson, the four of whom are planning a heavy waffle party beforehand. More twosomes include Carlene Hohensee with Dick Holm and Martha Ann Reed with Bud Luers. Another of thosi super house parties that same night is over at the ZBT house. Ray Grimes is dragging Kappa of last year beautiful Jean Minick who now peddles records at Walt's Music Hut on "O" oh, oh! And Ed Miller has similar plans for Bernice Himelstein. Now before we say goodbye-we-love-you-all, we must relay an ur gent request from poor Fiji Bill Long. He needs but bitterly lots of pigs (the real thing) for the Fiji-Tau tussle imminent on the Nebraska horizon. Now good-bye-we-love-yuu-all. For recommended movie-going, we suggest BAHAMA PASSAGE at the Stuart. It's got Stirling i Hayden and Madeleine Carroll in j Technicolor. Gee, they're purty! Adv. NOW! Strike up the Band! Library Loan Desk Reaches New High in March of 7,040 Does library circulation mount with the. thermometer, or does it rise with the closing of the se mester? This is the question that Miss Margaret Rutledge, general loan desk librarian, has been pon- I dering the last month. During the month of March the largest number of books were loaned out for one single month. Seven thousand and forty books were loaned out during this single month, and on one day of this month, circulation hit its jeak with 403 books being loaned. Running a close second to this record was, strangely enough, last year's month of July in which six - "TOM BOY Wnb They're CLASSICS well rut American Golfers and rollicking Tom Boys I Seen every here worn every wherefor action sports and spectating. Viewing this month's circulation of books, the pace is not letting up any, according to the loan desk official. "The first half of April is well up to last month's pace and there is a possibility of last month's record being surpassed," she added. As a final analysis, Miss Rut ledge cited that it was probably neither the thermometer or the closing of the semester, but that this is the "term paper season." The rush comes always at this time of the year, and the reason is that a large number of people are writing term papers for their various courses, concluded the librarian. .MMlt tM Itfiiiirouw trow tEXtMnmtSfOtMflXCSKCKI CW.T M TUB K8 1 HACK VSk 68 Baffle Filter retains flakes-slugs and KMrteMis smoke in Medico pipes, cigarette and cigar holders.
