Announcement of the new
Towne Club members was made
yesterday when Betty Lou Naden,
active, released the names of the
31 Lincoln coeds who have quali
fied for membership. Only those
who do not live in organized houses
may become members.
Each fall, Towne club holds a
membership dinner to which Lin
coln coeds are invited who are
friends of the actives. Soon after
this dinner takes place, the new
members are chosen.

Hears Speakers
At Meet Today
The home economics association
will meet in the social parlors of
the home economics building at
12:20 p. m. today.
Marguerite Harvey will speak
on Merrill Palmer, professional
school for home economists, lo
cated at Detroit where the main
subject taught is child psychology.
Another feature of the program
will be reports on the national
home economics convention, held
in Chicago this summer. Eleanor
Crawford and Winifred White, the
delegates from the Nebraska or
ganization, will tell their experi
ences.

for the Cornhusker this week are

to Shirley Russel, editor.
The deadline is Oct. 28 and may
be taken beginning today at Rudge
& Guenzel studio. Students should
take advantage of Thursday night
when the store is open until 9
p. m. to have their pictures taken,
Miss Russel stated.

Theatre Begins
First in Series
of Productions
Experimental Theatre will pre
sent three plays tonight at 7:30
p. m. in room 201 of the Temple
building. These productions are
first in the series of plays to be
given by the experimental theatre.
Allan Menefee will be stage
manager lor the three plays.
"Ghosts," a cutting from the play
by Henrik Ibsen, will be directed
by Phyllis Welch. Martha Anne
Bengston. Darrell Peters, Dorothy
Typton, Robert Black and Clar
ence Flick will act in this produc
tion. "For Distinguished Service," to
bo directed by Bonnie Wennersten,
will be played by Beverly Weichel,
Edith Laslo and Mary Huffman.
Mabel Jean Schmer will direct
"Ever Young." Taking part in it
will bo Josephine Weaver, Roberta
Estey, Pat Beadle and Jane Mover.

ity will be the Union where three
events. are scheduled.
Matinee Dance.
Identification cards will admit
students to the 5 o'clock matinee
dance in the ballroom. Come alone
or bring a date.
Square Dance.
At 6:45 p. m. square dance pu
pils will meet for their third in
struction period. Only those who
are registered will be admitted to
the class. Time for the lessons has
been changed from Tuesday night.
Game Pictures.
Complete pictures of the Nebraska-Indiana
game along with
a commentary on the play will be
presented at 7:30 p. m. The movies
will be shown in Union 315.
Coed War Bundle
Club Meets Today
The "Bundles for Britain" club
of the Coed Counselors will meet
today in Ellen Smith from 5 to 6
p. m. Marion Nicholson is the
group leader.

Winners of the football contest
sponsored by the Daily Nebraskan
last week, were Charles Vacanti,
1548 U, Paul Farrans, 1437 Q,
and John F. Woskibwicz, 1645
Vine, all of whom picked seven
of the eight games correctly.
Loyal Cornhuskers all, the three
missed on the Nebraska-Indiana
game.
The prize money will be divided
equally between the three win
ners, and if they will call at the
business manager's, office in the
Daily Nebraskan any time Friday
afternoon, they will receive their
money.
Sophomores
File in Junior
Division Office
Students who were classified in
the Junior Division last year, and
who have not filed for sopohomore
standing for this year, must see
Miss Zimmer. room 103, in the
administration building, who will
give them the proper blanks to
fill out, according to G. W. Ros
enlof, registrar.
Those who are eligible for
sophomore standing and who have
not yet filed, are receiving notices
from the admission office, which
indicates the importance of the
applications.
Everyone must have the correct
number of credit hours and have
met the requirement for a sopho
more in the college in which he
is entered.
SDT Entertains
Dean and Staff
Sigma Delta Tau will entertain
Mrs. Verna Boyles, dean of women,
Miss Elsie Ford Piper, and Mrs.
Ada Westover at dinner tonight.
The dinner is annual affair at
which the sorority entertains the
dean and her staff.
