sentative, threw a bo m -11 in the
intramural meeting Monday
when she suggested the innovation
of touch football for girls. Becky
Waite, Theta, was an enthusiastic
supporter of the' idea but it was
vetoed. It is an annual affair on
the Boulder campus but it seems
as if Nebraska girls must be ladies.
Soccer baseball practices may
be scheduled on the gym bulletin
board now. Practices will extend
thru Thursday, Oct. 2. No more
than four teams may practice at
any one time. All girls are asked
to enter the practice field thruhe
gate at the west side of the coli
seum. This year's attendance
should be higher as the fellows
will be having football practice at
the opposite end of the field.
All girls interested in Tankster
cttes, girl's swimming team, will
please arrange to meet every Mon
day and Wednesday at 4 p. m. at
the Coliseum. There will be a nine
weeks training period before the
actual speed swimming meets
begin.
The university rWing club en
thusiasts will hold a meeting next
Saturday morning at 7 o'clock at
Grant Memorial.

Improvement
Observers Take Heart
After Thursday Spree
Taking to heart the words
handed out by the Biffer before
their little skirmish, the Huskers
rolled over frosh opposition on
the second day of active work
with the freshmen.
On Wednesday the teams made
a very poor showing and found
themselves in many embarassing
situations. Thursday, they were
gunning for revenge.
They blocked harder, made their
assignments, drove deeper into the
secondary, completed more passes.
It all combined to make observers
take heart after the dismal show
ing of the preceeding day.
The first string which was the
object of the Wednesday scrim
mage came back with vengeance
yesterday. Marv Athey's pass to
Bob Ludwick was good for the
first tally.
Bradley Shows Class.
Dale Bradley, knees flying high,
drove for the next touchdown. Al
Zikmund on two occasions jumped
out of the opposition's reaches but
got the whistle when he got out
into the open.
Bradley next took his turn on
the passing job and laid a strike

Indicates Strength of Teams
With every Big Six team getting
into action this weekend with the
exception of the Huskers, some in
dication of the strength of the
various schools would be in order.
The Big Six race does not start
for several weeks but five of the
teams will see action against non

Vike Francis was not to be de
nied in the scoring as he tossed
off tacklers right and left on his
merry way goalward. Bradley
came into the picture again on
the front end of the pass to
Ludwick which was good for a
score.
Zikmund next hipped his way
through the defense to go through
not untouched but untripped to
score. Bradley again tore through
to roll up the last score for the
firsts.
The seconds had their fling but
did nothing that was extra
ordinary. Howard Debvis looked
good in the running and passing
snot. accounting for several
touches.
For the thiid squad, Willmer
Hansen looked good. Even though
the second and third squads didn't
look like the firsts but the entire
squad showed improvement.
