DAILY NEBRASKAN Tuesday, September 24, 1940 fcdxinhxaL - - QommsmL - - SuJUkdbv Well worth your ae and money Red skirted Tassels this morning open the annual sale of University The ater tickets. Formerly the University Players, the Theater deserve all the support it can get. One of the most arduous tasks an activity man or woman can take on is membership in this dramatic group. Every year there are jeers and hoots thrown at this student group. Those who throw them are usually ill man nered and representative of an unusually discourteous critical that some stu dents take. The Theater has never claimed to possess Broadway talent, it never expects to stage plays worthy of comparison with professional per. formances. No one working in the University Theater, except the faculty advisors and sponsors receives any pay. Until this year, membership in the group counted nothing in either men's or women's activities. The Student Council is slated to hear argument upon this point and we shall see what action it takes. Cer tainly the only logical move would be to recognize this activity as one well deserving equal rank with most other student activities. The Theater belongs to the students, and the only support it receives is from those students. Life here in the university is made just a little more, pleasant because the Theater operates. Again, it deserves all the support it can get. Foiled was Hood, however, for at Suxxes St., address was no suave, toothless, and grateful Grandmama, but tall, snaggle toothed Comrade Wolf of ehe OG PU. Eaten was Bertha apparently by OGPU's Wolf "an honourable and worth while demise" reported the staid, stodgy, archpatriot London Times. Aftermath of the incident was the lodging, with characteristic Anglician celerity, of a complaint against the Russians charging "wanton devouring of an un armed debutante."
