"Sloppy Joes" and "fuzzics" in
sweaters buttoning up as the
weather gets colder. Ole man win
ter is calling for those knee-high
wooly socks that make our ankles
look big... But anything for style.
And way up high in style was
Xhe Comhusker brunch. Every
thing from fruit to doughnuts,
chocolate at that. Phil Grant, Thi
Gam prexie, and Betty Bachman
best dressed girl, were thoroly en
joying their scrambled eggs. Don't
tell anyone, but Roger Cunning
ham, Farm House president, had
a terrific time with his ice cream.
We can't figure out why Delt,
Dick Boyer was with Tri Delt
Mary Rokahr. . .Isn't she going
steady with his fraternity brother,
Harold Kirsch?..But they seemed
to be having a good time... Also
at the same table, KD president.
Dot Swoboda with Kermit Ham
mar... Nan Talbot, DG with DU
Clayton Ankeny.
Sunday evening proved to be be
Just as exciting as Sunday noon
especially at the ATO-Theta pic
nic... And so early in the season
too... Lets call it a "steak fry"
just for a change. . .Among those
present. . .Betty Jane Dutch and
Johnnie Mason... Bob Sandberg
and Virginia Stoddart. . .Pria
Chain and Bucky Prime again.
Pines come and go, but so do
hour dances. Houghton Furr. Beta,
recently hung his pin on Marian

Candy and cigars. . .Carroll
Gary and Edith Filley started
things rolling at Farm House...
Ditto Herb Hillman at the Phi
Gam house, and Ebie Isaacson, Tri

SAE, Bob Hemphill.
Phi Mu Frannie Vaughn is try
ing her best to break off with a
Phi Psi 'cause of a Thi Delt love
in Scottsbluff. . .but she's still
keeping company with Ernie May
Sig Ep...Hope everything turns
out all right.
Another expectation.
The AOPi's expected candy from
Helen Eversman and Johnnie
Thornburg, Phi Gam, but she
claims she lost his pin. That's a
likely excuse for holding up the
treats.
A cute red-headed girl was cok
ing with Wayne Matchullat in the
Com Crib. . .thought Harriet Bow
man had a monopoly on him. Yes?
And talking of long dates...
can you beat this one? Delta Gam
ma beauty queen, Pat Reitz and
ATO Innocent, Roy Proffitt,
breakfasted from 11 a. m. to 6
p. m....Dow Wilson just can't
see anyone but the Thttas can he ?
It is Betty Hillyer now, or is he
seeing Flossie Moll too... Dark
haired Ann Thomas is bidding her

Italy going to do? These questions
are too big, even for guesswork,
he protests. "I don't trust any of
them," he says dryly. They all
double-cross each other. Italy is
trying hard to keep out."
All this "inevitable" talk he be
lieves is very dangerous. Referring
to those who remark that our
entry into the war is only a mat
ter of time, he comments. "If we
say we're going to get into it,
we're going to get into it. There's
no doubt of that."

war. They all want Hitler licked
but they want England and
France to do the licking."
Advocates counter propaganda
Lancaster believes the United
States must produce its own prop
aganda propaganda that would
counteract that of European gov
ernments. "We've got to learn
what this thing's all about," he
adds.

or those who want the best
in cigarette pleasure
You'll find in Chesterfield's right
combination of the world's best home
grown and aromatic Turkish tobaccos a
more refreshing mildness, better taste
and a more pleasing aroma than you'll
find anywhere else.
It's a combination entirely different from
any other cigarette . . . a good reason why
smokers every day are getting more plea
sure from Chesterfields. You 11 like them.
