roun THUKSDAY. OCTOUKK 21, 1035. THE DAILY NEBKASKAN CAMPOJSCDE COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME w aren't the only oih'h that ciumc u stir ou Nebraska h fair eiunpus. When th Daily Nebrasknn challenged the Corn husker to a bit of game to discover th grid supremacy of the dank corners of II hall's basement, it got n Middle English answer (wo venture to say that someone on the annual s staff is taking n course under Miss Pound) gloat in fr over last year's victory and prophesying a like en counter for this season. No sooner have these challenges been rend and accepted than the black sheep of the university publication brought out a proposal to fight for the Awgwan's honor on the football field. The dates for the historic matches have not been set, but when the time comes there will lie severa battles royal, and we suggest a student attendance (to cheer for the nag ot course) and several good referees. AMES, Towa, Oct. 24 Defeated in everything except spirit by hot weather and a heavier Oklahoma team with an abundance of re serve strength last Saturday, the Cyclones yesterday continued a week of practice in preparation for the clash with the Missouri Tigers. Lightened drills was the order of Head Coach George Veenker as he gave his team an opportunity to recuperate from its Oklahoma trip and contest under the hot southern sun. Almost every man on the team suffered from loss of weight on the trip, tho the entire squad came thru the Sooner clash without injury. Capt. Despite the weekend defeat, however, pessimism had no place in the Cyclone camp. In the first place, Coach Veen ker was well satisfied that his men had recovered from a post-Nebraska slump and were due for rapid improvement. Also the Cyclone aerial attack, one of the chief weaknesses of the Iowa State offense, gave its best display of the season in the Okla homa contest. Allender and Birney tossed several well-placed passes during the game. And with the exception of Tommy Neal, who received a hip bruise in last week's practice, the entire squad was In good condition. Neal's injury kept him out of most of the Oklahoma game but he will undoubtedly be back in the first string lineup for the Tiger contest. Harold Birney is rapidly getting back in condition after three weeks on the side lines and will add considerable power to the Cy clone backfleld.
