morrow evening. The rehearsal last night
showed just ft touch of the glamour that
the final grand march will present. From
the gossip about gowns and corsages this
event will prove to be colorful as we!! .is
spectacular. There's the music of Louis
l'anieo, a nationally famous orchestra, to
look forward to and as the grand climax
to the evening's entertainment the pre
sentation of the Honorary Colonel whoso
identity is arousing everyone's curiosity. Anyway you look at
it the Military Hall is one of the biggest of the big evenls on
the campus.

Raymond, Mrs. A. C. Lau, and Miss
Lucille Reilly. The entertainment

VESTETTA ROBERTSON, who
is a Tri Dclt alumna, was a visitor
in Lincoln recently.

Entries to Date.
Eleven men have entered the
university boxing tournament.
Coach Harold Ostran announced
Wednesday that the entry deadline
would be extended until Dec. 10, to
allow more to enter.
Ostran would like to have fly
weight, bantam weight, and feather
weight contestants. As yet no en
tries have been received in these
weights.
The winners will receive gold
medals and the runners-up silver
medals. Each bout will consist of
three, two minute rounds to a de
cision. The eleven entries are: Bob Men
ring, Harold Nootz, Glen Miller,
Robert Brown, Elmer Gaughan,
Dale Meyer, Don Taylor, David
Bernstein, Keith Hannah, Fred
Blumer, and Morris Zeiger.
SOCIAL DANCING.
Social Dancing will be held Fri
day evening in the Armory from
7 until 9 o'clock.
Columbia, S. C, the home ot the
University of South Carolina, has
constructed a stadium which seats
18,200 persons. It cost approxi
mately $83.C00.
The twenty-fifth anniversary of
its founding is being celebrated
this fall by West Texas State
Teachers' college.

Close Game Wednesday Ends
In Victory for Coach
Browne's Men.
The Nebraska Varsity basket
ball team pulled a close game out
of the fire against two combined
freshman teams 24 to 23 Wednes
day night. The game was dead
locked twelve even at half time
with a last minute goal by Henry
Whitaker tying the count to bring
the varsity up on even terms.
Freshman Coach George Sauer
started an entirely new lineup at
the start of the second half, and
this outfit took the lead immedi
ately on a basket by Scott. The
varsity was not slow in recovering,
however, and successive baskets by
Whitaker, Parsons, and Baker soon

put the Browne team ahead.
The varsity was protecting a
three-point lead for the last few
minutes but a long archer by Bob
Parsons put the freshmen within
one point as the whistle blew end
ing the game.
Whitaker with five goals and a
free throw and Bud Parsons were
bright spots in the varsity lineup.
George Scott and Leffel were high
scorers for the freshmen with
seven and six points, respectively.

in 1935 under the auspices of the

Wednesday, due to the lact that to
date only eleven teams have
signed up. Intramural Athletic Di
rector Harold Petz felt that as sev
eral inquiries had been made, the
remaining barb clubs would sign
up Immediately. He urged that
they do so, so that practice, sched
uled to start early next week,
would not be held up.
