ended rougher. A crowd of
approximately 2,000 witnessed the
game.
Kansas Scores First.
Kansas State drew first blood
when Graham counted on Mason's
foul for 2 points. Davison broke
the ice for Nebraska with a gift
toss. Stradski, Kansas State cen
ter, found the hoop for two points.
Stradski fouled Mason who made
the free shot good. Henrion found
the basket for two points to tie
up the score. Graham fouled
Mason, which resulted in a lead
of 5 to 4 for the Blackmcn.
Stradski again found the hoop,
hut the score was again tied when
Mason sank a foul toss. Graham
broke the deadlock with a gift
toss, but Boswell again put Ne
braska in the lead with an under
the basket shot. Breen found the
hoop for two points to end the
Kansas State scoring for the first
stanzs. Boswell again slipped
under the hoop for a counter, fol
lowed by a pretty side court shot
by Lunney. Brockway fouled Bos
well, who added another point to
Nebraska's total, and Lunney

Nebraska Opens Second Stanza.
The second half started with
Henrion and Mason slipping two
shots thru the hoop for Nebraska.
Breen snagged a long one, fol
lowed by two in quick succession
by Boyd of Kansas State. Bos
well again counted to make Ne
braska's total 21, followed by Ma
son with a gift throw. Mason fol
lowed Graham twice, and the Kan
sas ace hit the hoop for two points.
Lunney caught a setup, and a min
ute later found the hoop for a sec
ond counter. Henrion made good
a foul by Boyd. Kansas State be
came interested in the game, and
Dalton picked off a free throw.
Boyd slipped one thru the hoop,
and Auker added a point when
fouled by Lunney. Graham boosted
the total to 23.
Davison went on a scoring spree,
cashing in on Breen's foul for a
point, and following with a field
goal. Dalton was fouled by Ma
son and made it good, and a min
ute later found the hoop for two
more points. In the meantime Ne
braska started a stalling game
ended when Davison found the
basket for the final score of the
game.
Starting Five Outstanding.
Nebraska's four sophomores,
Henrion, Lunney. Boswell and Ma
son, together with Davison showed
the crowd plenty of fast basket
ball. Henrion's floorwork, Davison
and Mason's guarding, and Lun
ney's shooting together with Bos
well's general all around good
playing made a game that Husker
fans won't forget for many a day.
Koster played a nice game at
guard while on the floor. For Kan
sas State, Boyd at guard, besides
ringing up six points, played a nice
all around game. Graham, when in
the fracas, showed up well, and
was high for Kansas with seven
points. Lunney of Nebraska was
high point man for the evening
with four field goals. Boswell tied
with Graham for second honors
with three field goals and a gift
shot.
Kansas State had sixteen fouls
called with Stradski and Breen
leaving the game with four each.
Lunney and Mason also left the
game after contributing eight to
Nebraska's total of eleven. Kan-

A smooth working Omaha uni
versity basketball team marched
over a Husker Ag college "B"
team to the tune of 49 to 27, in
the university coliseum Saturday
evening. The game was played as
a preliminary to the Nebraska
Kansas State game. Omaha led
at the half 17 to 12.
Walker and Wischmeir counted
for 21 of Nebraska's total. Walker
being high point man with five
field goals and a gift toss. Wilker
son, of Omaha enjoyed a large
evening at the expense of the "B"
team, sinking nine field goals. Max
Egbert, former Nebraska student,
tied Walker of Nebraska for sec
ond honors with four field shots
and three free goals. Patterson
of Omaha deadlocked with Walker
for third place honors with 10
points. Wilkerson, of Omaha was
the individual star of the evening.

B Team Loses Friday.
The Nebraska B quintet could
not stop "Doc" Fellers, diminutive
forward and Coach Waldorf's Ne
braska Wesleyan five took a 47
to 25 victory Friday night at the
coliseum.
Fellers, Methodist forward was
all over the floor and accounted
for twenty-seven points, two more
than the B's could muster collec
tively. Wesleyan's scoring combi
nation, featuring Fellers and Trott,
clicked from the start, holding a
30 to 7 lead at half time.
Bob Chase, guard led the scor
ing for the Husker reserves with
four baskets, while Le Doiyt and
Si Yordy were tied for second
position among the Scarlet scorers
with six points each. Yordy played
the entire game for the campus
B team.

Ten Points for High
Place in Meet.
The Nebraska tankmen van
quished Washburn Saturday In the
new Coliseum pool by a score of 47
to 37 In the first meet of the sea
son for the Scarlet mermen. The
team will next tackle the strong
Iowa State aggregation at Ames,
Monday.
Sammy Amato's work was the
high spot of the afternoon. He led
the Nebraska team with a total of
ten points besides being a member
of the winning 300 yard medley
relay team. Morns was outstand
ing for Washburn, copping first In
the 440 and 220 free style events.
Sutherland, the only letterman com
peting with the exception of Amato,
also turned in a good periormance
by winning the diving, placin? sec
ond in the 220 free style, and being
a member of the victorious 400
yard free style relay team.
Nebraska Immediately jumped
Into the lead when It won the 400
yard relay by a wide margin.
Washburn won the next two events
to put itself in front by the score
of 17 to 13. In the next race
Amato and Masterson won first
and second places respectively. In
this race, the 50 yard free style,
the best time of the contest was
recorded, Amato covering the dis
tance in 26.5 while the Big Six rec
ord is 26 flat
Mornt Wins Fres Style.
In the 440 yard free style, Morns,
Washburn star, turned in a victory
over Easterday to tie the count at
24 all. From here on out it was
all Nebraska, Amato and Whit
worth taking first and second
places in the 100 yard free style,
while Sutherland and Minor won
first and third in the diving event.
Morns again came through in the
220 free style, but he was closely
pressed by Sutherland of the Husk
ers. The last event of the afternoon,
the 300 yard medley relay, was the
most hotly contested event of the
meet. The result of the race was
in doubt until Whitworth of Ne
braska nosed out Edmonston by a
matter of inches.
Considei ing that it was the first
meet of the season and that the
Vogelermen were handicapped by
illness, the Cornhuskers made a
good showing.
"Snow madness" was the plea
three Pasadena junior college stu
dents made as an excuse for their
resistance of officers in a recent
snowball riot. And they got away
with it. Misdemeanor charges
were dismissed when they ex
plained they had never before seen
snow and had been unable to re
sist the temptation.

INOT HOLERS came in for a
bit of comment Friday on the
part of the editor. He advocates
applying the Knot Hole plan to
basketball as well as football
games, thereby giving the kids a
break ; and providing . for more
spirit in our basketball games.
According to John K. Selleck, the
reason why this plan has not al
ready been adopted is due to the
fact that the Lincoln city schools
frown ' upon any attempt to take
the boys and girls away from their
homes at night Otherwise, the
scheme would have been in use
long ago.

JERRY LEE has definitely de
cided to remain in school and
do his stuff as a member of Coach
Schulte's track team this spring.
H 1 s announcement will enable
Schulte and Husker cinder fans in
general to breathe easier. It
seemed for a while that the Bas
se tt star would be missing from
the ranks, but everything is on
the up and up once more.
"TED STOWELL, late of North
western university, will be one
of the boys battling for a berth
on the Cornhusker eleven next
fall. Stowell; who lettered at
guard for the Wildcats two years
ago, has been attending Nebraska
since the first semester. He ex
pects to turn out for spring prac
tice. B
ILL FOLGER. Lincoln high
grid captain in 1927, has been
attending school since September.
Folger, a guard, led the Red and
Black during the season that
Coach Browne's outfit took the
measure of Waite high of Toledo,
8 to 3. Folger has since played
football at Denver U and at Pitts
burgh Teachers college under Blue
Howell.
THREE athletes who wore the
Scarlet and Cream a few years
ago were among the spectators
watching the trackmen go through
their paces Saturday afternoon at
the stadium. Art Easter, Big Six
220-yard champion in 1927, was
holding a watch as was Cliff Ash
burn, former football and weight
star. Ashburn is in school this
semester. Avard Mandary, now
coaching at Friend, was back to
say "Hello" to Schulte and inci
dentally give the once over to
Dave Froelich and Bill Green, his
stars last year at Friend high.

wrestling team defeated the Ne
braska matmen, 27 to 0, Saturday
afternoon to remain unbeaten in
this season's meets. The powerful
Sooner grapplers won three falls
and four decisions in whitewashing
the Husken.
Coach Lehman's , men put up a
game fight in each bout, but could
not match the experience of the
Red and White wrestlers. Walker,
Nebraska, forced his opponent.
Turner of Oklahoma, to go 9 min
utes 50 seconds to take a fall in
the 135 pound class. The sum
mary: 118 pounds: Garvin, Oklahoma, won a
decision from Htady, Nebraska. Time ad
vantage 8:26.
