THE DAILY NEBRASKAN THREE" SOCIETY Twelve active members of Mortar Honnl. senior women 'h honorary, will be honor guests at a dinner at the Vniveisily club this evening at 6:15 with Miss Amanda Heppner and Miss 'Elsie Ford Piper .as the hostesses. Miss Mabel Lee. an honorary "member of Mortar Board, and members of the advisory board will also be present. Orchid and yellow against n black back ground will be used as the central theme of the decorations. Small yellow chrysanthemums in black bowls will form the center piece and orchid candles in black holders will further the attractiveness of the tables. Following the dinner a shorto " himlness meetlnr will be held which will include a renort of the district convention which waa held at Minneapolis, Minn., last Satur day and Sunday. The delegates to the convention were Bereniece Hoffman, Jean Rathburn and Gwendolyn Hager. D. U. Mothers' Club Holds Meeting Monday. The Mothers' club of Delta Up sllon met at the chapter houae Monday for a 1 o'clock covered dish luncheon. Table decorations consisted of rose colored chrysan themums and blue candles. Thirty guests were present. After the business meeting the mothers en Joyed a general Inspection of the new house. The hostesses were Mrs. Caroline Phillips, Mrs. L. B. Ayers, Mrs. Ralph W. Taylor, and Mrs. Pearl J. Andrews. Chaperones Club Meets At Alpha Chi House. The chaperones club composed of the fraternity and sorority chaperones on the campus, will meet this afternoon with Mrs. J. W. Bishop at the Alpha Chi Omega house. Assisting hostesses will be Mrs. Emma Holyoke, Mrs. Dora Finch, Mrs. Clara Baker. Mrs. Maude Moore, Mrs. Ezza Pullman, and Mrs. Fannie Schnell. Delta Gamma Entertains National Vice-President. Mrs. Joseph W. Bingham, na tional vice president of Delta Gamma, who arrived Monday aft ernoon from New York City, en route to her home at Palo Alto, ' Calif., was honor guest at a din j ner Monday evening at which tho i local chapter of Delta Gamma was j hosteas. This evening the alumnae of Delta Gamma will entertain Mr. Bing ham at a buffet supper at the home of Mrs. Genevieve Chapln. Mrs. Bingham will leave Wednes day for her home on the Pacific coast. Univeraily Graduate In Botany Succumbs Word has been received by the botany department of the death of Dr. H. J. Cottle, head of the biol ogy department in Sul Ross State college at Alpine, Tex. The fall initiation service of Alpha Lamda Delta, frcsnman honorary scholastic society, waa held Saturday morning at Ellen Smith hall with Alice Geddes, president,, in charge. Freshman women and honorary members who attained an average of 90 percent or above In their freshman year In college, were admitted into the organization. Honorary members Initiated were Miss Amanda Heppner, dean of women, Miss Winona Perry, sponsor of the group, and Evelyn West, Motor Board advisor to the society. Celebrating the one hundied tenth anniversary of the first Thanksgiving, university students of First Plymouth church are plan ning the first annual Pilgrim's din ner to be held at the church Fri day at 6:30 o'clock. About seventy-five are expected to attend the dinner. The program will center around the events of the first Thanksgiving in Novem ber. 1621. The tradition of the Pil grims has been preserved in the Congregational church, and hokl3 an especially important place in i the background of First Plymouth 1 church.
