In 1929. the summer arhool worked on a nine week plan, and in 1938 and former yesrs. on a sla weeka hauls. Prof. R. D. Mont, aummei achool .director who sponsored the new plan, recently acnt letter to university professors, asking thelf opinions of the plan and to determ ine from their contacta with th tudenta whether or not the plan waa aatlafactory. He also asked them for auuirestlons which might W used to Improve the next ses sion, relaltve to the type and va riety of courses offered, length of sessions, entertainment and social actlvltlea for students, library fa cilities, etc. Increase Shown. enrollment this summer allowed a alight increase over 1929, when 2,614 student were present. This year there were 2,665 who received university credit for their summer school work. In other years, field courses were contained in the reg ular summer school work, and the students were given university credit, but this year that work was handled by the extension depart ment.
