nursery school prima nly as a

mental, physical and social de
velopment of young children. The

ren have a short rest, and are

attendants said. She started her

Later she went into a breeding
pen and after the breeding season

"hair" are about a unrelated as
any four worda could be. At first
it seems as If there are very few
possible sentences which could
combine the four. But in the
laboratory section of psychology
71 last week, there were a great
variety of combinations offered
pontaneously by the student.
"Construct one sensible sentence
containing the four words; hair,
table, cloud, and hate." That was
the Instruction given. In thirty-,
five seconds a feminine ingenuity
had composed this: "A she ap-
peared at the table, bair unkempt. !
she brought bate, like a stormy
cloud, ruthless in It destruction."
One coed found a urprislngly
simple olution and In Just fifteen
seconds had devised and written,
"I hate to cloud your view of the
table with my bair."
One masculine mind required
eventy-flve second to contrive
and write, "Standing on the table
land where a fine cloud formed a
Lair-llae above the distant trees, I
could feel hate for no one."
Who could fall to guess the sex
of the author of "The grlrl' hate
for going out-of-doors was because j
the cloud would soon bring rain j
which would spoil her new table
and take the curl out of her hair?"
Another atudsnt had . practically
the same sentence except that his
hate for the clouds was because
rain made bis bair curl up tightly!
Another clever sentence relating
the four word was compos-jd In
less than a minute after the prob
lem was stated: "A cloud came
over the people at the table as
mention of hi red hair, which all
red-headed people bate, was made
to Jim."
Perhaps the most ingenious sen
tence was written twenty-three
seconds after the Instruction was
given. It read: "Construct a sen
tence c-oitalning the word: hair,
table, cloud, and hate" adequately
fulfilling the condition of a single,
sensible sentence using the four
words.
