Hav ing already smashed one college rec ord and shown unexpected strength in some events, the Oklahoma A. and M. college track team is this week preparing for the Washington uni versity dual meet which will be held here Saturday afternoon. John Faulkner of Mena, Ark., smashed the A. and M. record in the half mile run during the University of Oklahoma dual meet when ii ran the gruelling race in 1:5.. The old record was 1:59.9 made in 1925 by Harlan Patterson of Cherokee. Faulkner's record breaking perfor mance was all the more remarkable in view of the fact that he had earlier in the meet won second in the mile run. He was not pushed in the half mile, taking the lead at the outset of the race and setting the pace himself, By jumping 21 feet, 10 inches, Carlton Corbin stamped himself as a good broad jumper and Hugh Cloud surprised Aggie sports followers by heaving the javelin 178 feet to win first place in the University of Ok lahoma dual meet.
