Is Important In Schedule In preparation for the week-end contest with the Oklahoma Aggies, the Nebraska basketeers spent the Tuesday basket drill in scrimmaging Bunny Oakes' yearling team. Scor ing honors were even until Brown, Witte, Munn, Holm, and Lewandow ski were inserted in the Varsity line up, when the Huskers pulled out far ahead of their freshmen opponents. Witr the Oklahoma Aggies riding in third place in the Missouri Valley standings, the Huskers are figuring on a hard game this coming Satur day. Preparations for the approach ing game consist of a one-hour drill under Coach Black, stressing funda mentals, then a fifteen minute prac tice game with the yearling quintets Wright, Oklahoma A. and M. all around athlete, is now holding sec ond place in the Valley race for in dividual scoring honors. Holt, elon gated renter on the first place Ok lahoma quintet, is leading the Val ley scorers by a substantial margin. Froth Shew the Good Next year's Varsity team will probably contain lots of sophomore material, from the showing being made by the yearling basketeers in the daily workouts with the Varsity. "Morrie" Fisher, John Kimball, Ken neth Morrison, Glen Milhollin, Cliff Jensen, and Fred Maclay are provid ing Coach Bunny Oakes with mate rial from which to make a fast quin tet. In the daily scrimmages with the Varsity, the yearling teams al ways give sufficient opposition. According to the last two work outs and past performances, the probable lineup this week-end against the Oak Aggies will have -Jug" Brown and "Dutch" Witte, forwards; Glen Munn, center; Elmer Holm and "Lew" LewandowsW, guards. This quintet combines a lot of fight with considerable smartness in working the ball down the Colise um court Harvey Grace and Tom Elliott will work in at the forward positions, and Bob Krall, Carl Olson, and George Gohde will aid the Var sity in the defensive formations. After the Saturday night contest with the Aklahoma Ags at home, the Huskers will go to Ames for a game with the Iowa State hoopsters Feb. 9. On Feb. 10, the Varsity will meet Grinnell on the foreign court. The game with Ames marks the half way point in the Husker basket schedule and nine games, including important contests with Kansas and Oklahoma, remain to be played. According to Coach Charley Black, the plans for the rest of the week include nothing but scrimmage and drill on fundamentals. Every ef fort is being made by coach and players to place the Oklahoma A. and M. game in the victory column because of the importance of the Saturday tustle. with Western Maryland College they lost by 3456 to 3563. In the girls' matches the Univer sity of South Dakota won from West Virginia with a score of 488 to 475, and from the University of Missouri by 951 to 934, and lost to the Uni versity of Maryland by 951 to 991.
