Bearg returned from Syracuse with an abundance of valuable football dope for his men. Line Coach "Bunny" Oakes, who scouted the Pittsburgh Panthers in action was instilling some eastern football ideas into the Husker line men during the workout last night. Passing again received the impor tant place in the practice session. Intensive secret practice work will be kept up all week in preparation for the Syra cuse Orange eleven. Bears; Says Cams Will Ba Thriller Coach Bearg came back from the stronghold of Coach Andreas' Or ange elven with the report that the Syracuse-Nebraska game will be a thriller from the opening whistle un til the final gun makes the intersec tional clash history. It will be the first test for the Nebraskans in inter sectional games this season and will be followed by two more, the last to be played with the New York Violets on Thanksgiving day. "Dutch" Witte, Captain "Jug" Brown and "Blue" Howell, three Husker backs were on the heaving end last night in the practice session and Presnell, Lewandowski, Still, Sprague and Witte on the receiving end. The Syracuse aerial game is a fast one, according to Coach Bearg and it will be this phase of the game that the Husker mentor will drill his football eleven to stop in next Sat urday's game. Syracuse Has Good Running Attack The Orange eleven also has a good running attack and Oakes was giv ing his 194-pound Nebraska line some pointers on the Syracuse at tack through the line. Nebraska has three intersec tional games on the card for the remainder of the 1927 season and two Missouri Valley games, all of which will be tough battles for the Nebraska Huskers. Kansas and Kan sas Afrtries are the two remaining valley schools to be met by the Scar let eleven. Kansas Aggies demonstrated their prowess by downing the strong Okla homa Sooner eleven last week and Kansas held the Washington eleven to a 21 to 21 tie. The Jayhawker team although not considered a strong eleven is in the habit of springing surprises every year and last year was no exception when the Cappon crew took the Oklahoma Sooners into camp. Penn State Defeats Syracuse Syracuse's winning streak was halted last Saturday when the Fenn State eleven took the long end of the 9 to 6 count But the score does not indicate the class of performance the Orange eleven displayed. When the final gun ended the game Coach Andreas' eleven had the oval on the five yard line and three downs to make the winning touchdown. Cap tain Barbuti, Orange fullback and mainstay of the Orange backfield was not playing in this game on account of an injured knee but is expected to be in shape for the Nebraska gam on stadium field this Saturday. Nebraska will have a slight weight advantage on the Syracuse eleven but the weight advantage in this day of football means very little if the team is well coached as the Syra cuse team is.
